📢 Important OLA Updates for Next Weekend

A few important reminders for our parish community:

⛪ Sunday Mass Times Are Changing
Beginning September 13, 2026, our Sunday Mass schedule will be:

8:00 AM
10:00 AM

Saturday Mass will remain at 4:30 PM.

📚 Elementary Faith Formation
Sunday Elementary Faith Formation will be held at 9:00 AM.

We are currently accepting registrations for Faith Formation Grades 1–10. If you need a registration form, please call the parish office at 518-785-1605.

🌼 Mums Are Coming!
Our mum sale returns September 12–13.

High-quality mums from local growers Hillands will be available for:

$15 each
2 for $25

⛪ Join Us for Mass This Weekend

Father Tom invites everyone to join us at Our Lady of the Assumption this weekend as we come together in worship, prayer, and community.

When we gather as the Church, Christ is present among us — drawing us together and helping us grow in faith.

🙏 Give Your Child the Gift of Faith

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the opportunity to know God, grow in faith, and become part of a welcoming parish community.

At Our Lady of the Assumption, our Elementary Faith Formation program serves children in Grades 1–5 and includes preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Father Tom and Theresa Moran share more about the program, what families can expect, and how OLA can help children who are just beginning or returning to Faith Formation.

🕘 Sundays, 9:00–9:50 AM

If your family is new to OLA, returning to the Church, or simply looking for a place where your child can grow in faith, we would be happy to welcome you.

Join us for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship at our Parish Picnic at the Shaker Road Fire House!

We are also looking for teen volunteers to help make the day a success. Volunteers are needed to help with:

🎯 Games for children
🍽 Food service
🍧 Cotton candy & snow cones
🍿 Popcorn
🎨 Face painting

Beginning Sunday, September 13, our Sunday Mass schedule at Our Lady of the Assumption will change:

⛪ Sunday Masses
8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.

📚 Sunday Elementary Faith Formation
9:00 a.m.

🙏 Saturday Mass
Continues at 4:30 p.m.

Faith Formation registration is also currently open for Grades 1–10.

Please note that Hospitality Sunday after the 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM Masses has been canceled for tomorrow due to the parish bus trip to see the Yankees take on the Red Sox.

✝️ Take Up Your Cross and Follow Me

This weekend, Father Tom invites us to reflect on the hope found in the Cross.

Jesus reminds us that the crosses we are asked to carry in this life — difficult as they may sometimes be — can become a way of drawing closer to Him when we carry them with love and faith.

Through Christ’s death and Resurrection, our suffering is never without meaning. We carry our crosses with the hope of one day being fully in His presence. 🙏

We also welcome a missionary from Missionhurst, who will share about their work proclaiming the Gospel and offer us an opportunity to support their mission.

⛪ FROM OLA TO MARIST 🎓
Faith • Friendship • Community

Before heading off to Marist, Matthew and Jake wanted to say thank you to the parish community that has meant so much to them.

Their friendship began at OLA, and through Vacation Bible School, Youth Ministry, serving at Mass, NCYC, and parish life, they have grown together in faith and friendship.

They are especially grateful to Father Tom, Father Burke, Father Joseph, Mrs. Gavin, and the many volunteers, families, and parishioners who have been part of their journey.

Now, as they head to Marist together as roommates, they take their faith with them.

And their story offers a simple invitation to other OLA families:

There is a place for your children here — a place to serve, belong, and grow in faith.

✝️ “Who do you say that I am?”

This weekend, Father Tom reflects on one of the most important questions Jesus asks His disciples — and each of us.

Peter answers:

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

That profession of faith is at the heart of who we are as the Church. We come together to worship, pray, grow in faith, and draw closer to Christ so that we too can answer from the heart:

You are the Christ.
You are the center of my life.
Help me to walk more faithfully as Your disciple.

⚾ OLA Night at the ValleyCats — Faith & Family Night! ❤️

What a wonderful evening of faith, family, fellowship, and fun with our Our Lady of the Assumption parish family at the Tri-City ValleyCats!

Parishioners came together to enjoy baseball, time with friends, plenty of smiles, and a great fireworks show to finish the night. 🎆

Events like this are a wonderful reminder that parish life extends beyond Sunday Mass. We are One Family in Faith, growing in friendship and community as we share life together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special!
