Bishop Morales reminds us that everything we receive in worship — the Word, the sacraments, prayer, fellowship, and the life of Christ among His people — is meant to shape us and send us into the world bearing witness to Jesus.

Sometimes through words. Sometimes through mercy, compassion, faithfulness, and love.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

If the Church is going to look like Christ, we first have to be rooted in Him.

Bishop Morales reflects on the kind of communion with Jesus that reshapes a person from the inside out — a life sustained by Christ, formed by His presence, and anchored in daily dependence upon Him.

At the center of the Christian life is not simply belief about Jesus, but abiding in Him.

Today is the Feast of St. Dunstan of Canterbury (909–988) — Archbishop, monastic reformer, skilled craftsman, and royal counselor to multiple English kings. Born into the Anglo-Saxon nobility, Dunstan was formed at Glastonbury, survived court intrigue and exile, and returned to reshape both the English church and the English monarchy. He revived Benedictine monastic life across England, insisted that the church’s integrity could not be bartered for political favor, and served as Archbishop of Canterbury for nearly thirty years. He is the patron of goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and musicians — and the patron saint of our parish.

On his feast day, we pray the collect appointed for him: Almighty God, who raised up Dunstan to be a true shepherd of the flock, a restorer of monastic life and a faithful counsellor to those in authority: give to all pastors the same gifts of your Holy Spirit that they may be true servants of Christ and of all his people; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Happy Feast Day to the St. Dunstan’s family.

Days like this are a reminder of how good it is to belong to a church family.

It was such a gift to have Bishop Morales with us and to see our parish gathered together so fully — worshipping, celebrating the sacraments together, catching up after the service, sharing meals, and watching the kids enjoy the afternoon together.

We’re grateful for this community and for the many small moments through which God continues to knit us together in love.
