Matthew 27:20 reminds us of a sobering truth: it was the leaders who persuaded the people.
If we’re honest, the same thing is happening today.
Out of jealousy, envy, competition, and personal agendas, many are still choosing Barabbas over Jesus. Instead of celebrating who God has anointed, people often support who is popular, familiar, or beneficial to their own interests.
We live in a culture where some try to influence others on who should be supported, who should be heard, and who should be accepted in the Kingdom. But popularity has never been the same as purpose, and public opinion has never overruled God’s choice.
The crowd was persuaded to reject Jesus, yet their rejection could not cancel His assignment.
Be careful who is shaping your perspective. Not every loud voice is leading people toward truth.
Just because the crowd chooses Barabbas doesn’t mean Heaven changed its mind about Jesus.
