SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE WORKOUTS?

Most men understand physical discipline.

You don't build strength by lifting weights once a month. You don't build endurance by running when you happen to feel motivated. You get stronger by showing up consistently—even on the days you don't feel like it.

Our spiritual lives work the same way.

Prayer builds dependence.
Scripture builds truth.
Obedience builds character.
Worship builds perspective.
Accountability builds strength.

Spiritual discipline isn't about earning God's love or becoming more religious. It's about intentionally making room for God to shape you into the man He created you to be.

And here's the hard question:

If your spiritual discipline is the foundation for how you lead your marriage, your family, your work, and your life…how strong is that foundation?

"Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way." — 1 Timothy 4:7–8

You don't have to overhaul your entire life tomorrow.

Start with one thing.

Open the Bible. Pray before you reach for your phone. Find a brother who will hold you accountable. Spend a few intentional minutes with God every day.

Show up. Stay faithful. Get stronger.

What's one spiritual discipline you're working on right now?

Share it below. Your answer might be exactly what another brother needs to hear today.

What if following Jesus means getting off the throne?

We all have places where we want control—our time, our comfort, our plans, our resources, even our future.

Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 4:8–13 challenge the idea that following Christ is supposed to make life comfortable. The apostles were hungry, rejected, persecuted, and considered fools for Christ. Yet they kept serving, enduring, blessing, and loving.

So I have to ask myself:

Am I following Jesus, or am I protecting my comfort?

Where is my time going?
Who am I investing in?
What am I holding too tightly?
Am I willing to let God interrupt my plans?

Maybe the question isn't whether I'm suffering enough.

Maybe it's whether I'm surrendered enough.

Your work matters.

Not just because it pays the bills.

Not just because it provides for your family.

Your work is one of the places you have an opportunity to live out your faith.

Whether you're behind a desk, on a job site, in a classroom, behind the wheel, managing a team, or building something with your hands—God cares about how you do it.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23

☕ Faith Check:

How do you honor God through your work?

Drop your answer in the comments. Your perspective might encourage someone who is struggling to see purpose in what they do.

And if you want to wear that reminder, check out the Kingdom Work collection.

Wear your faith. Live your mission.

What happens when life breaks you?

Not when things get difficult. Not when plans change. But when the losses pile up, the pain becomes overwhelming, and you’re left wondering how you’re supposed to keep moving forward.

In Episode 55 of Hope Over Coffee, Jared sits down with Shane Michael for an honest conversation about loss, grief, faith, and what it means to keep going when life doesn’t turn out the way you expected.

https://youtu.be/GO6nRbf5lDw

This isn’t a conversation about having all the answers.

It’s about being honest about the hard seasons—and discovering that even when life breaks you, your story isn’t over.

I LOST EVERYTHING IN TWO WEEKS

“So I lost my wife, lost my stepdaughter, buried my daughter, buried my grandma within two weeks.”

Shane Michael opens up about one of the most devastating seasons of his life—and what it looked like to keep going when grief seemed to take everything.

This conversation is raw, honest, and deeply personal. Sometimes faith doesn’t mean you understand what happened. Sometimes it means taking the next step when you don’t know how.

Watch the full conversation and hear Shane’s story of loss, grief, faith, and finding a way forward.

I've been asking myself a difficult question lately...

Am I more focused on the fruit than I am on being faithful?

I keep thinking about the next studio setup. Better content. More influence. More people reached.

And maybe none of those things are the problem.

Maybe the problem is that I'm waiting for the next thing to make me ready.

1 Corinthians 4:6–7 reminded me that everything I have is something I received. The gifts. The calling. The opportunities. The influence.

None of it is mine to boast about.

So maybe I don't need to chase the fruit.

Maybe I need to be faithful with what's already in my hands.

I've been in a dry season, and I'm starting to wonder if God has been growing something underneath the surface that I couldn't see.

What Christian book has impacted your walk with Jesus the most?

Maybe it challenged the way you think.
Maybe it helped you through a difficult season.
Maybe it gave you a perspective on faith that you still carry today.

For me, books can sometimes start conversations that God uses to change the way we live.

☕ So let's build a reading list together.

What Christian book has impacted your walk the most?

Drop the title in the comments and tell us why. You might introduce someone to the book they need for the season they're walking through.
