I honestly still don’t have the words to fully explain what God did during the 2025 “Lake Area” Gospel Music Honors. This was not just a program, it was a sacred encounter. You truly had to have been there. From the opening moments of praise and worship to the final benediction, the atmosphere was filled with reverence, gratitude, and the unmistakable presence of Almighty God.

I am profoundly grateful to God and deeply thankful to Southwest Louisiana for showing up, standing with us, and experiencing this historic moment together. For 30 years, this region has helped us preserve and celebrate the history, heritage, and heartbeat of Gospel music while honoring those who faithfully carried the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music, leadership, service, and sacrifice.

We were honored to celebrate and recognize Aundreis D. Carrier; Corey “CJ” Dotson, Jr.; Dr. Nypheteria Clophus Larry; Bishop Dr. Johnny Clophus, Sr. and Lady Georgia Clophus; Superintendent Darnold T. and Evangelist Ethel L. Catlon; Apostle Eale Malveaux and Lady Merendia Malveaux; and Pastor Marcus and Dr. Shontill McNabb. Your lives and legacies reflect faithfulness, endurance, and obedience to the call of God.

My heartfelt thanks also go to the Fullness of Joy Ministries, Inc. Choir, our special musical guest, Kim Stratton, every participant, supporter, and special guest who helped make this night unforgettable.

Thank you to everyone who helped give life, structure, and momentum to the vision God entrusted to the Gospel Music Honors. Southwest Louisiana, thank you for three decades of trust, partnership, and purpose. The mission continues, the legacy lives on, and the vision remains clear. To God be all the glory for what He has done, what He is doing, and what is still to come.

Thank You, 12News Now!

We are grateful to 12News Now, the local news leader in Southeast Texas, for covering the 2025 Golden Triangle Gospel Music Honors. This year’s celebration at Saint James Methodist Church in Beaumont honored 10 incredible musicians and community contributors for their role in preserving and promoting gospel music in Southeast Texas.

Founded 30 years ago by Larry W. Robinson, the program was first brought to Southeast Texas in 2016. It paused in some years due to Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic. It has continued to serve as a powerful platform to recognize singers and musicians whose contributions often go unrecognized. With more than 165 attendees, the evening was filled with inspiration, gratitude, and joyful music.

A special thank you to EJ Williams and Claydra Rhodes of 12News Now for coming out to cover the event.

Congratulations again to all honorees. Special recognition also goes to those already chosen for next year’s celebration. We celebrate you!
