It’s National Salvation Army Week — and here in Acadiana, we’re celebrating hope in action.

For over 160 years, The Salvation Army has been committed to meeting human needs in Jesus’ name without discrimination.

And that mission is alive right here in our community.

This past year in Acadiana, The Salvation Army helped provide over 16,000 meals, served more than 2,100 individuals, and supported families through groceries, crisis care, and practical hope.

To every donor, volunteer, partner, and neighbor who believes in this mission: thank you.

We know many in Lafayette are eager for our Family Store to open — and trust us, we’re eager too.

While we may need a little more time to ensure we are building something safe, sustainable, and truly ready to serve this community well… our mission has never been on pause.

Because The Salvation Army is more than a store.
We are here to serve. We are here to restore dignity. We are here to help build stronger futures.

We're incredibly proud of our young adults, especially Cecelia Domingue, who received the prestigious spotlight award this weekend for her remarkable service here in Lafayette, truly embodying the selfless spirit that Christ inspires within us.

Additionally, we honored the late Mrs. Latanya Anderson, whose legacy lives on, and we know she was beaming with pride from heaven as one of her own was recognized for serving with a heart that reflects the love of Christ.
