"Calm down and be quiet."

That's not advice we expect to hear in the middle of a crisis, but it's exactly what God told King Ahaz when fear had taken hold of his heart.

In Isaiah 7, Judah faced a terrifying threat, yet God reminded His people that their security was not found in their circumstances, but in Him. Then he gave them a powerful warning and promise:

"If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all."

When fear rises, trust Jesus. When circumstances feel overwhelming, trust His plan, His perspective, and His power.

Read this week's sermon recap and discover how to remain unshaken when life feels uncertain. 👇

What a great Father’s Day at First Baptist Lafayette! ⛳💙

From our Dad Zone filled with games and laughter to worshiping together as a church family, it was a fun day celebrating the dads who work hard, play hard, and pray hard.

Brother James reminded us that fathers are shepherds. Just as a shepherd serves his sheep, faithful dads lovingly lead, protect, and care for their families every day.

To all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures of First Baptist Lafayette, thank you for the way you serve your families and point them to Jesus. We are grateful for you!

What if God's call on your life doesn't match your plans?

Isaiah said, "Here I am. Send me," before he knew what God was sending him to do. And the assignment he received wasn't easy, popular, or what most people would call successful.

That's because God's call is always connected to God's purpose.

Too often we want God to bless our plans when He is calling us to surrender to His.

Real peace comes when we stop chasing our own definition of success and faithfully follow wherever Jesus leads.

Read this week's sermon recap from Isaiah 6 and discover why God's purpose is always better than our own. 👇
