“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say: rejoice!” - Philippians 4:4
What does it mean to truly rejoice when life is hard? The Apostle Paul wrote these words from prison, bearing scars from beatings, shipwrecks, and betrayal. His joy wasn’t rooted in his circumstances, it was anchored in who God is and who we are in Him.
We often try to straddle the wall — one foot in the world, one foot in the kingdom. But sustainable joy comes when we fully surrender. Paul’s adversity gave authenticity to his words: God’s attributes plus our adoption equals unshakeable joy.
This month we’re challenging you to memorize Philippians 4:4-9. Pick up your memory card and discover the peace that comes from rejoicing in His presence and promises, not your circumstances.
Jump off the wall. There’s joy on the other side.
