Hillside Baptist Church was started as a Mission of the Bethel Baptist Church, Paris, Arkansas, in January 1980. First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church was organized into a Church on August 20, 1989, and the name was changed to Hillside Baptist Church on April 21, 1996, for simplicity and to eliminate any confusion with another church. Hillside Baptist remains a totally independent, mission-orie

nted, church that allows an association relation with other American Baptist Churches. Hillside Baptist Church invites you to join us as we study, pray, and grow, striving to meet the spiritual needs of this community. Pastor Langley and his family are natives of Bakersfield, California where he served as pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church from March 2009 until accepting the call to Hillside Baptist Church in August 2022. Prior to that, he served as pastor of Central Coast Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Maria, California from September 2001 to March 2009. Brother Langley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in May 2000 from California State University. Pursuing his Biblical Studies, he attended Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute in Fresno, California where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in General Bible Studies and Languages. He then went on to earn his Master of Arts degree in Advanced Biblical Studies and Counseling from Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in Henderson, Texas. Brother Langley has also served as Chaplain for Hoffman Hospice where he provided spiritual guidance, emotional support, and direct care to patients, family members, and staff. He also served as Chaplain for the Bakersfield Condors hockey team in Bakersfield. He also enjoys running marathons and competes in 10k races.
