In today's Gospel, Jesus looks out on the crowds with deep compassion. He sees that there are many longing for truth, hope, and mercy, but few with the courage to lead and serve.

We pray for an increase in vocations, that many will hear the call to be a laborer in the Lord's harvest, serving through prayer, service, evangelization, compassion, and faithful witness.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. ❤️‍🔥

Today, the solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, our diocese and our cathedral parish were consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Households received special images blessed by Bishop Beckman for home enthronements of the Sacred Heart.

This special Mass and consecration was also part of the celebration of the United States of America's 250th anniversary. Yesterday, the U.S. bishops consecrated the nation's to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, entrusting the U.S. to God's mercy and moral guidance.

May we each experience the peace, hope, and renewal that comes from the love of Christ and His Most Sacred Heart. ❤️‍🔥

On this World Priest Day (also known as World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests), please remember all priests in your prayers! Say a Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet, light a candle, give a Holy Hour, and then TELL your priest you are praying for him! He will be grateful!

Sacred Heart Novena Day 9: Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus 🇺🇸

As we conclude this Novena to the Sacred Heart, we reflect with Pope Francis in Dilexit Nos. “There are moments when [Jesus] speaks to us inwardly, calls us and leads us to a better place. That better place is his heart. There he invites us to find fresh strength and peace: ‘Come to me, all who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest’ (Mt 11:28)” (no. 43).

Let us go forth with this renewed sense of strength and peace, consoled by the great love that Jesus has for us and transformed by the missionary fire of his Sacred Heart.

Today the U.S. bishops will consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May this consecration and the love of Christ renew the country, our priests, and our homes.
