Apostolic Church of God "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil

Pastor: District Elder Morris Brown, Sr
1st Lady: Evangelist Patricia Brown

Throughout the day I thank God for what He does in my life. But do I offer anything to Him compared to what He does for me? Has my worship been more than just a sound, a song that I sing, a word that I express? It should be that everything I do is an expression of worship to God, from words to my works.

~Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. (Psalm 29:2)

I pray for self-control in my life and how I speak, because I really want my heart to reflect the Lord. I see how the Lord affects me when I hear His words from my heart, and I don't want to regret my words if misspoken. Listen to yourself today. What kind of words do you use? What kind of tone or attitude do you have? Are your words edifying and encouraging or destructive and negative? Let's be encouraging.

~Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. (Romans 14:19)

It is now time to get that devil off your back. Aren’t you tired of carrying his load? Carrying the hatred, the jealousy. Carrying envy, and backstabbing. Living in blindness, and denial. Aren’t you tired? Be honest with yourself, and carry your own load, take up your cross and carry it with Jesus. Be cleansed of your past, and come out of the blind. Bravely walk being guided by the Holy Spirit, and live with the Lord who created you. Live in Christ and find rest.

~ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Today we pause to celebrate a beautiful woman of grace, wisdom, strength, and love, First Lady Patricia Brown.

First Lady, your life is a blessing to so many. You carry yourself with kindness, humility, and class, and your presence speaks volumes. You love God, you love people, and you serve with a heart that can truly be felt. The prayers, the encouragement, the quiet sacrifices, the smiles, and the steady support do not go unnoticed.

On your birthday, we simply want to say thank you. Thank you for being an example of faith. Thank you for standing with strength and grace. Thank you for the love you pour into the church, your family, and everyone connected to you.

May this year bring you more joy, more peace, more laughter, more favor, and more beautiful moments than your heart can hold. We pray God continues to cover you, bless you, strengthen you, and give you the desires of your heart.

Happy Birthday, First Lady Patricia Brown!
We love you, honor you, and celebrate you today.

I’m not trying to be better than anyone else I’m just trying to be better than I was yesterday. I try not to compare myself with others because comparison would not make one better. It only teaches levels of weakness, leading to pride, envy, or poor judgment, rather than spiritual growth. Jesus never compared Himself to His siblings, though He did chastise the disciples for comparing themselves to one another; boasting of who is better. Comparing oneself to another, is like saying that God does not know what He’s doing with you. So I’m not trying to be better than anyone else, I’m just trying to be better than I was yesterday.

~ Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. ( John 21:21-22 KJV)

I am disciplined enough to cover my insufficiencies, though I lack faith in my surroundings. The bible says, “Which of you by taking thought, can add one cubit unto his stature?” We must Consider the work of God. For which of us can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? I am disciplined enough to cover my insufficiencies; and mine alone. Yet I am affected by society; so I lack faith in my surroundings. For rarely are the plans for society about society; it seems exceed the planers grasp. Yet, many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. We must acknowledge the possibilities that these changes are not for our hands, but Gods.

~ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. (Romans 12:18 KJV)

We seem to follow the same paths over and over again; because we can’t let go. We will lay our issues down at His feet on the floor, then pick them up again, as we walk out the door. We will pray, and walk away, still carrying the things we came in with. Why can’t we let go? Is it we are too afraid, too ashamed to leave them behind? We must stop allowing our fears to shape us. They are threatening the very fibers of our being, distracting our unity with the living God. So, put distractions at bay, place your burdens at His feet and walk away… Begin walking by the Spirit, reenergizing your obedience with Jesus today.

~ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. (Mark 5:33)

Those considered wise, or educated are often respected as such. But their knowledge is only knowledge, for wisdom is nothing if it doesn’t demonstrate its true intent. As like a Christian is only a Christian in name, if their deeds are not in the will of God. The Pharisees lived in laws they’d conceived and often chastised greatly, those who did not closely concede in their misguided beliefs. Their intentions overstepped mosaic law. As like your knowledge of scripture is only knowledge, if one lives life outside of biblical intentions. Bring scripture, Gods gospel into your world, and its world will reside in you; as made evident by Jesus.

~ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? (John 7:19 KJV)
