In its belief that music and art are integral parts of worship, Second Presbyterian maintains a long-standing tradition of artistic excellence. Under the leadership of Dr. Michelle Louer, the music and fine arts programs of Second Church are vibrant and active, with ministries for all ages, from four-year-olds through adults. Vocal ensembles include nine choirs: Sanctuary Choir, Beecher Singers, S

ummer Choir, Women's Ensemble, Men's Ensemble, and choirs for children and youth ages 4 through twelfth grade. Instrumental ensembles include handbell choir, an inter-generational youth and adult wind ensemble, jazz trio, and professional orchestra and brass ensemble. Surrounded by highly symbolic works of art at Second Presbyterian, the Fine Arts Ministry program stewards the development of the churchโ€™s permanent art collection and rotating exhibitions in the McFarland Hall Art Gallery.

Join Bill Sando, Leah Crane, and Pavel Polanco-Safadit in the annual fundraiser for Music Education in the Dominican Republic at the Jazz Kitchen this Sunday, August 23, 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. There will be music, dance, Dominican Food, an auction, and sharing the story of this special musical mission/outreach project.

Funds raised for MusicEdFest provide instruments, scholarships, workshops, and performance opportunities for talented students who might otherwise lack access to musical training. Through mentorship and education, the program helps young musicians discover their voices, build confidence, and pursue futures that once seemed beyond reach.

"The shepherd's calling! Let's ring bells!"

During her study travels, our Director of Music and Fine Arts found some rhythmic inspiration in the Scottish Highlands watching shepherds move the flocks! If you have a knack for counting, love teamwork, and want to make music ring, our Handbell Ensemble has a spot just for you. Come join the ring!

Thereโ€™s beauty, and harmony, in numbers, especially when we lift our voices to God!

Looking for a musical faith community where you can lift your voice and "find your flock"? The Sanctuary Choir is ready to welcome you! Thursday rehearsals, 7-9 PM start August 20 in the Choir Room.

Still on the fence? Try out "Summer Choir" Sundays August 16, 23 and/or 30. Summer Choir is a great opportunity to test and connect with a welcoming community of faithful singers.

Summer Choir commitment involves a Sunday morning rehearsal to learn an easy anthem and Psalm-setting and leading music from the Choir Gallery in worship. For Summer Choir, no robes, just wear any combination of black and white. You'll pick up music in the Choir Room and meet in the Choir Gallery at 8:55 AM.
