🎨 Featured Artwork of the Week: Trading Our "If You Had..." for His "I AM"
When loss, tragedy, or seasons of silence strike, our hearts naturally cry out just like Martha’s did in John 11:21:
“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” How often do we replay the scenarios in our own heads?
💔 If You had healed them...
💔 If You had stopped it...
💔 If You had just given us more time...
Our incredible featured artwork this week (inspired by the powerful visual from Full of Eyes Ministries) beautifully captures this struggle. In the piece, we see Martha on her knees, her imagination conjuring multiple paths that she thinks would have been better, only for those paths to ultimately sink into darkness.
But there is a seventh path—the reality God actually ordained. It starts in the deepest blackness of grief, but as it travels upward, we see that our darkness is carried within the wounded side of the crucified and risen Christ. He takes our darkest nights and carries them into the light of the True Morning.
Jesus didn't answer Martha's painful "If You had..." with an explanation of His timeline. He answered her with Himself: "I AM the Resurrection and the Life."
Every heartbreak, every doubt, and every silence we experience is fully known and held by Jesus. Whatever "if you had" you are whispering or screaming into the night right now, bring it to Him. Let it be swallowed up by the ocean of His I AM.
See you this Sunday as we start our series, Silence.
