As we recognize Juneteenth on June 19th, we take this time to reflect on the importance of freedom, equality, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for all. Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth is not only a day of remembrance but also a celebration of African American culture, heritage, and contributions to our nation.

We encourage everyone in our community to take a moment to honor this significant day—whether by attending a local event, learning more about its history, or simply taking time to reflect.

We wish you a meaningful and thoughtful Juneteenth.
