We ask for your prayers for Pastor Ed DeVore, wife Pernelle and their family as they mourn the loss of his mother, Shirley J. DeVore, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 31.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, 131 S. Main St., Friedens, on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 3 to 7 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m. Committal will be held at Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Presiding ministers will be Pr. John Barichivich and Pr. Ed DeVore.

Rain unfortunately kept the Altoona Curve from playing today, but a few folks who turned out for Lutheran Day at the Curve enjoyed dinner and fellowship together before rain cancelled the game. Anyone who purchased tickets can exchange them at the Curve box office for another game this season.

Reminder to anyone who purchased tickets for Lutheran Day at the Curve this coming Sunday: if you haven’t received your tickets or didn’t make arrangements to have them mailed to you, they will be available at the Synod’s Will Call table, located near the main ticket office. Staff from the Office of the Bishop will be at the table beginning at 5pm; please look for us and we will have your tickets. If you have issues connecting with us there, please text 814-934-9941.
