Altoona Bible Church PreSchool We are a faith based Preschool
Beginners must be age three or four by September 14th
Pre-K students m Our teachers are also CPR and AED certified.

The Altoona Bible Church Preschool has been developed as an “outreach” ministry of the Altoona Bible Church. It is a self-supporting, non-profit school and functions under the supervision of the Altoona Bible Church Deacon Board. We follow the Pennsylvania state guide lines for staff and students. Our curriculum is developed to meet the goals of Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Academic Stan

dards. All our staff have completed background and child abuse clearances. The school’s goals are presented through the curriculum as follows:
• The curriculum is presented in Units of Study. Each unit includes fine motor, gross motor, language, social skills, cognitive, self-help, group devotions, prayer, memorization of scripture, and individual skill work.
• Each unit of study contains a general goal and a spiritual goal. Each day is broken down into specific objectives to meet the goals.
• Individual skill work is decided according to the child’s own needs. An individualized evaluation is provided to the parents 3 times a year to mark the progress of each child. Some of our Units of study: Rainbow Colors, God Made Me Special , Autumn, Forest Animals, Water, Fire & Home Safety, Birds, Shapes, Senses, Thanksgiving, Manners, Body Parts, Family, Christmas, Farm, Opposites, Maps, Rain Forest, Presidents/ Flag, Wind & Air, Healthy Bodies, Good food/ Nutrition, Community Helpers, Missionaries/ Cultures, Pond, Transportation, The Sea, Alphabet Review Zoo. We have special events throughout the year such as Holliday Parties and gift exchanges, Nature Walk, Fire Fighter Visit, Vision Screening, and School Picture Days. For these events we allow parent, or grandparent volunteers. A few times during the school year, I invite Pastor Stewart & his wife Nancy to come in to read the closing story and share a special treat with the students. Eligible children must be 4 years old by September 14th, for the Pre K program or 3 by September 14th for Beginners

Classes will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays September - May
from 9:00 -12:00

Wow!!! We had a great day at preschool today, Thursday. First we want to thank the Outback for bringing us lunch. Chicken strips and French fries. Also the cutest kangaroo in Altoona gave the kids a little kangaroo, coloring pages and crayons. The teachers were happy to. They also had lunch. Thank you sooo much Outback. To end the day, we had our Easter Egg Hunt. Weather didn’t cooperate with us again so we had to find the egg with their name on in the gym. Everyone had a great time. ABC preschool wants to wish everyone a blessed Resurrection Sunday. Thank you Jesus for loving us.

At preschool today we had visitors from Cambodia and Bonaire. Missionaries, Denise from Bonaire and Julia from Cambodia. They are at the Altoona Bible Church for their 72nd Missionary Conference. Denise and Julia explained to the kids what missionaries do and how they work with God to tell everyone how to put Jesus in your heart. Kids saw each counties flag and where there country is located on the world globe. They were also taught songs in their languages. Children enjoyed asking questions. Thank you Denise and Julia for visiting us today. We will be praying for you.

Thursday December 19 was a busy day for ABC Preschool. We had our Christmas snack, our gift exchange and ended our day with their Christmas
Program. They were great. I am so proud of them. I want to thank everyone for all the beautiful gifts given to us. All of us at ABC Preschool want to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you all in January

Another busy week ar ABC. One of our students showed the kids something he worked on at home with his mom. He read a story and showed the kids items about Native Indians. Kids were excited to get up close and see what he brought. Each class made a different snowman, they worked on their ornament for our tree, Miss Carol continued our Christmas Story, we wore our Christmas PJs to school and we had a rehearsal for our Christmas program. We did do a little work in between.

Today was our Halloween party. Kids costumes were cool. First we went upstairs to scare Pastor Stew and Vicki. Then we did our walk around the church and then had our snack. To end our day we had our Frankenstein pinta. All kids had a chance to crack him open. He was tough. Miss Vick had to rip the poor guy apart. We all had a great day.
