Mighty Fortress Ev. Lutheran Church, Hiram, Georgia Sundays: Divine Service at 2:00 PM (temporary hours) Mighty Fortress Evangelical Lutheran Church is a group of Christians of all ages, nationalities, and races.

The name “Mighty Fortress” is taken from Psalm 94:22 which reads, “The Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock on whom I take refuge.” The name also reflects Martin Luther’s most famous hymn, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” The word “evangelical” means “Christ-centered,” that is, our focus is on the life, work, and promises of Christ Jesus as found in the gospel, the good news of the Bible. We are called “Lutheran” to commemorate the 16th century reformer, Dr. Martin Luther, who shook up the church of his day by bringing people back to the Bible. The motto of the Lutheran Church to this day is “Scripture alone,” “Faith alone,” “Grace alone.”

A Mighty Fortress Indeed! ⛪🔨🔊

Our amazing volunteers are back at it! They’ve been working hard in every corner of the church this weekend.

From replacing all the furniture after floor cleaning, de-cluttering and organizing the classrooms & kitchen, to heavy-lifting and setting up the new tech in the sanctuary—this team does it all!

We are incredibly blessed by everyone who rolls up their sleeves, brings their unique skills, and pours their heart into keeping our church beautiful, welcoming, and ready for worship. 🤝❤️

📢 Important Update Regarding Our Sunday Worship Schedule
Starting next week, our Sunday worship time is temporarily changing to 2:00 PM.

🗓️ Effective Date: Sunday, August 23, 2026
⏰ Service Time: 2:00 PM

This new afternoon schedule will remain in place until we secure a vacancy pastor.
We appreciate your flexibility, patience, and continued prayers during this transition period for our congregation.

Exciting news, church family! Our main parking lot is getting a much-needed makeover. Starting this week, we are re-paving the entire lot to make it smooth, safe, and ready for everyone!

What you need to know:
*The Dates: The transformation happens Tuesday, 8/4 through Thursday, 8/6.
*Lot Closed: The lot will be completely closed to all vehicles while the team works their magic.
