Calling all dirty cars!

One of the first steps for construction is to clear the jobsite. Trash has to be identified, collected and disposed of, or else it takes over. The clutter, blockage and even the smell get in the way doing what needs to be done. If you try to build around the trash, you aren't following the design. All too often people leave the trash of the unredeemed life right where it's always been. They may even dress it up with a coat of paint. but the day comes when it's in the way and beginning to reek. Take the trash out and see what a difference a clean jobsite makes.

If your home is destroyed, you build another in it's place. However, if there's no resources to build, you're understandably even more upset. You have no hope, and no hope leads to survival mode, anger and even violence. But, what if you had a second home that's even better than the first, in fact, it's perfect? While the loss of the other one is unfortunate, it's not a threat to your hope. God gives us hope. Not a "maybe," but a certainty that there's a place for us. And there's nothing and no one able to destroy it.

The old phrase is, "If you want something done right, then do it yourself." The wrinkle in any multi person job is the competing opinions on what's the right approach. People get stubborn and dig in their heels, even if it destroys the project. God calls us to the work building the Kingdom and rescuing humanity. But if we lose sight of Him, we run the risk of blindly defaulting to our way of doing things. If we become entrenched in that way, we may find ourselves at odds with God Himself. Break your idols before they ruin you.
