Hey Hansvillians (Hansvillagers? Hansvillites? You too, Eglon folks) - we could use your input. The Helping Hands & Cemetery are trying to decide what to put on the 4ft square blank side of the new info kiosk in the cemetery. Your two cents’ worth can help!

Should it be:

1. A map of the existing burials, which would be periodically updated
2. Archival images of our communities and history
3. The daily special down at the store
4. A fine artist’s vision of our town
5. Advertising
6. Your own very special and unique idea

Today we’re proud to launch the new website for Hansville Helping Hands & Cemetery, just in time for tomorrow's Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, Sunday May 24th at 12:30pm.

The heart of the new site is a searchable listing of burials in the Hansville cemetery, along with a visual plot map – a tribute to the people who helped shape our community and a lasting resource for families, friends, and local history.

As Memorial Day approaches, we especially remember the veterans buried there and invite the community to attend tomorrow’s Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony in their honor.

You can find the new website (and maybe an old friend, or relative or two!), explore the cemetery records, and help us share this important piece of Hansville history.

The mission of the Hansville Helping Hands and Cemetery is to assist in serving the needs of our community and neighbors, and to continue to manage the Hansville Cemetery in a manner that maintains the spirit and heart of the community.

Please join us this Sunday as we pay tribute to Hansville veterans. Hansville Helping Hands & Cemetery is hosting its Annual Memorial Day Service to remember and honor the 98 men and women from our community who have served in our country's military and are buried in the Hansville Cemetery.

The ceremony is brief and moving, with reflections by Hansville Church Pastor Locke Morgan, a reading of the veterans' names by cemetery trustees, an 8 Bells Tribute, and a lowering of the American flag to the playing of taps by Bruce Cosacchi.

Hi, Hansville!

Join us Saturday, May 16 from 10am–12pm as we help prepare the Hansville Cemetery for the annual Memorial Day Celebration on Sunday, May 24.

We’ll be cleaning headstones, trimming overgrown grass around markers, and tidying up branches, wilted flowers, and other debris to help the cemetery look its best for the holiday observance.

If you’d like to volunteer, please bring:

- gloves
- a small bucket
- scrub brush
- grass clippers

Soap and water will be provided.
