Moving Forward: Our faith must be put into practice or it’s worthless (James 2:17). In this new year, as God provides what we need, may we live out our faith by returning to the basics: “Love the Lord your God,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37–39).

Moving Forward: Well, here some of us are!

“For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold,

and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable].” 2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬‬:‭3-4‬ AMP

The Distortion of Christianity!

It is not new it has been happening since the early beginnings of the church.

Judaized Christianity - Gentiles must first become Jews; mostly early church era

Legalized Christianity - God’s favor is earned by good behavior

Lawless Christianity - God‘s word is not as important as our personal sense of God‘s guidance

True Christianity - Believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ as Savior and commit to living Godly principles daily through the aid of the Holy Spirit

Moving Forward: “The TRUTH” still matters!

Each generation has a responsibility to pass on both the story of God’s revelation and mighty acts of redemption as well as the ways in which we have failed to trgust and follow God faithfully.

So that our children and God’s people can grow in wisdom and put their trust in God.

Moving Forward: Fear distorted the disciples’ vision, blinding them to Jesus’ good intentions for them. After He rebuked the wind and waves (Mk 4:39), Christ confronted the disciples with two penetrating questions: “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (v. 40).

Storms rage in our lives as well, many unexpected. So, will we move by faith or fear?
