As we come closer to Holy Week, we want to invite you to our Good Friday services on April 3rd.

We will gather together for two services to honor Good Friday, and we hope you'll join us. Our 5pm is geared more towards our children but adults and children are welcome at both services.

Dear Church Family,

As we’ve been confessing in the Nicene Creed that God is the maker of all things seen and unseen, one very visible thing this weekend is snow!! Due to the wild forecast and safety concerns, our worship service and all classes are cancelled this Sunday. The CGY event on Saturday is STILL happening in a modified way, and CGY families will receive details directly from Andrew and the CGY team! The church is not cancelled only the gathering so stay safe, receive rest as a gift, and trust that Christ still upholds all things, even on snow days.

Grace and Peace,

CG Elders and Staff

This Sunday, Common Ground Church is dedicating our entire tithe and offering to the Center for Faith and Leadership at the University of Mary Washington. As we heard Emma and Brandon share last week, they are a robust campus ministry that creates intentional spaces where students can explore faith, build authentic community, and serve others. Like us, they build this trust through shared meals, scripture study, and acts of service, they cultivate a spiritual family that listens well, supports in challenges, and points each other toward Jesus. By supporting The Center, we get to invest in the transformation of young lives and the expansion of God's Kingdom on campus and beyond! Your generosity enables them to continue fostering a Christ-centered community that impacts students' lives and our city for eternity! The Call of God: Hearing Christ in the Life of Abraham

This fall at Common Ground, we’re walking alongside Abraham to see what it looks like when God calls ordinary people into extraordinary purposes. From leaving home with nothing but a promise, to learning to trust in the impossible, to discovering joy and freedom in God’s timing, Abraham’s journey is messy, human, and surprisingly familiar. Each week, we’ll uncover how God’s call shapes courage, worship, hope, and ultimately points us to Christ, the fulfillment of every promise.

Over the next eight weeks we will be exploring how the faith and failures of Abraham prepare us to follow Christ in an unpredictable reality of life. We hope you’ll join us at Common Ground Church and in a Table Group listen for that still small voice who is still calling imperfect people toward extraordinary faith. Grab a friend or a neighbor and simply come worship the God who loves us and is calling us to be transformed in Christ.

“Dead to sin! Alive in CHRIST!”

Colossians 3:1-4 is a beautiful Post-Baptismal Cantor and today our children didn’t just dance, they led the chorus!

“I believe, he is the Christ, the son of the living God!”

Children, showing yet again, even when things look grim, the light is winning!

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven...for you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Today, as a church family, we celebrated multiple baptisms as many declared their allegiance to King Jesus! What a beautiful expression of faith and we rejoice with their families as they begin to walk in this newness of life.
