These individuals trespassed in both cemeteries. Please help us find out who they are so they can learn what "no entry after dark" means!

We are shocked and saddened that this happened to our neighbor! The culprit entered over our back wall but limited their terror to the City Cemetery. We are both non-profit cemeteries, please consider a donation to assist with the repairs! 🪦 Donations to the Fredericksburg Cemetery can be made at bit.ly/4d3PrGg.

Last Saturday we had another great day installing new, flat stones to mark our Confederate dead. We'd like to thank members of the Civil War Round Table of Fredericksburg, Rho Kappa Honor Society,
Friends of Wilderness Battlefield and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Your help is so meaningful!

The invocation for today's service was given was by the Rev. Deacon Ed Jones. It is posted here for those of you unable to join us:

Let us bow our heads in reverence for those who offered themselves and their lives for a cause they deemed greater than themselves.

We remember especially this day the men who fought and died in this city and in this area more than a century and a half ago during perhaps the most challenging chapter of our nation's history --a chapter with ramifications that extend to this day.

Help us to embrace the fact that no other generation of Americans has encountered death on the scale of the Civil War generation. Help us to see the faces of the fallen and to understand what it was like to live amid such loss and pain. Help us to grasp the stories of the dozens of soldiers-- young men with families, dreams and aspirations -- whose shortened lives brought them to this peaceful resting place.

May their courage and selflessness inspire in us a commitment to breach the differences in our land and to build on the virtues and truths that unite us.

We offer thanks for the torch of liberty that has been lit in our land... and we pray that the nations of the world will be guided into the way of justice and truth, and that together we will strive for a world where no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, and where no strength is known but the strength of love.

This is our hope. This is our prayer. AMEN
