What do you do when God asks for the very thing He promised?

In Genesis 22, Abraham waited 25 years for the son God promised him. Then God asked Abraham to place that promise back on the altar.

This powerful moment challenges all of us: Do we love God’s gifts more than we love God? Have we become so focused on the blessing that we’ve forgotten the One who gave it?

True faith isn’t just trusting God for the promise. It’s trusting Him enough to surrender it.

This week, let’s examine our hearts and remember that the Giver will always be greater than the gift.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom, justice, and opportunity flourish when people come together to support one another.

As followers of Christ, we celebrate because our God is a God of justice, freedom, and hope. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s heart for the oppressed, the overlooked, and those longing for liberation. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of both God’s faithfulness and the ongoing call to love our neighbors, seek justice, and walk together in unity.

Today, we honor the contributions, achievements, and enduring impact of Black Americans while recommitting ourselves to building communities where every person is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
