Join the Diocese of Owensboro for an unforgettable Championing the Faith Pilgrimage to Chicago and Wisconsin, August 30–September 4, 2026, with Chaplain, Fr. John Vaughn. Begin in Chicago with special highlights including a visit to Pope Leo’s childhood home, dinner at his favorite pizzeria, and a visit to the National Shrine of Saint Jude. Fr. Byron Macias will join us for part of the pilgrimage and looks forward to reconnecting with his friends from Sts. Peter and Paul. In Chicago we will also visit the National Shrine of Maximilian Kolbe and Mundelein University. Our journey continues into Wisconsin, where faith and beauty combine in memorable ways. Experience Holy Hill, enjoy a relaxing boat tour, visit a scenic lighthouse, and take in a beautiful sunset dinner along the lake. Diocese of Owensboro Announces Julie Garvin as Chief Financial Officer

Owensboro, KY – Bishop William F. Medley is pleased to announce Julie Garvin, CPA, CGMA, CFM, as the Chief Financial Officer for the Diocese of Owensboro, as of July 1st, 2026.

Ms. Garvin transitions into this role from her previous position as Director of Finance for the Owensboro Catholic School System. With more than 30 years of experience – including roles at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners and Alexander & Company CPAs – she brings extensive expertise in auditing, tax services, and financial management to the diocese.

The combined Parish Pilgrimage with Christ the King to https://www.saintmeinrad.org/ is scheduled to leave St Mary at 8 AM on June 8th and return no later than 6PM. Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to attend. We need at least 40 people and the bus will seat up to 55. We hope you will make time to make this pilgrimage.

Saint Meinrad Archabbey is a community of Benedictine monks that has been seeking God and serving the Catholic Church for over 170 years.
