"FBC lights, thermostats, and locked windows/doors . . . with a surprise birthday twist!!

Usually any reminders about turning off lights, closing windows, locking doors, and turning down the heat are coupled with the reminders of saving costs and taking care of the building that God has provided for us to meet in. But . . . this time it's an opportunity to give birthday greetings to Chet for his 60th birthday! For those who would like to participate, you can put a birthday card, a piece of notebook paper, or post-it note with a birthday greeting, and stick it next to any light switch, thermostat, or door throughout the building. Chet faithfully locks up the church building, and how fun it would be to find birthday greetings this Sunday as he does!! I will have painter's tape available on each of the levels of the building if you need it to stick your greeting to the wall/door/etc. Please be discreet on when and where you post things, since we're aiming for it being a surprise. He usually waits until most people have left to start securing the building.

For anyone who can and would like to top off the surprise greetings with singing Happy Birthday to Chet, along with some cake, you can meet in the classroom in the basement (ladies S.S./Bible Study classroom) at 1:15pm.

Also, if it's easier to get cards/greetings to someone else for posting up, feel free to pass them on to someone else in our family (Ruth Anna, Nathan, or Caleb) and we'll make sure they find a spot in the building that he's sure to check.

For those of you who don't know, we are in the middle of a remodel/recarpeting project. We have been informed the carpeting we ordered has been delayed. As a result, it affected the sound. So, there was no livestream. Also, we were not able to record the sermon because our usual sound equipment was dismantled in the process. We are sorry for those of you who were not able to attend the service today. We will attempt to have something for you next week.

Dear Church Family and Dessert Lovers Everywhere!

Don’t forget to come to church tonight at 6:00 pm to enjoy some delicious free desserts AND bid on some amazing desserts to take home with you. There are also multiple gift cards up for auction from places like Cruisin’ Coffee, Woods, Starbucks, Edaleen Dairy, Barb’s Pies and Pastries and even from Uncle Jesse’s Pottery.

The auction is a great way to save some time and preparation for tomorrow’s Church Picnic as well… just buy your dessert tonight and bring it to Hovander Park tomorrow to share.

Of course the REAL reason to come tonight (even if you don’t buy anything) is to hear more about the mission’s trip to Germany and start praying for some specific requests the team will share with us.
