Register now for BIO Girls at St. John this fall!

We're back! We are so excited for another season of BIO Girls - Art at St. John Lutheran in Fargo! BIO Girls programming isn't a one and done experience. We are getting ready to welcome new faces to our program but to also readily welcome back past participants. BIO Girls rotates the yearly curriculum while improving it along the way to make it relevant to today's youth. Year 3 here we come!

VBS: Day 4 - Wednesday

We met Buzz the Bee and learned how bees make honey and beeswax. The beekeepers can then use those products or sell them for income. Honeybees are one of the animals available through ELCA Good Gifts.

We had a special guest today--a real beekeeper!
She told us about different types of bees and how they work together in the hive. She even brought a few live bees in a jar for us to see!

We read 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, where Paul describes the different gifts that the Holy Spirit gives to different people, and how they're all important.

At Crafts today, we made friendship bracelets and seed balls. Kids can take their seed balls home and plant them to grow flowers!
At Games, we were challenged with the Human Knot!

VBS: Day 3 - Tuesday

We met Portia the Pig and learned how pigs help families around the world. They grow from a little piglet to a big, 200-lb pig! Then they can be sold for more money than it cost to raise them. Pigs are one of the animals available through ELCA Good Gifts.

We read Matthew 13:31-33, where Jesus tells the Parable of the Mustard Seed and the Parable of Yeast. We talked about how God takes things that are small and grows them into great big things!

At our Simulation Station today, we did our service project--we put together kits of snacks and personal care essentials. These will be given to people who are unhoused or food insecure and come to St. John looking for help.

At Crafts today, we made pig noses and drew pictures of mustard seeds that turned into mustard trees!
At Games, we were challenged with an obstacle course!
