“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” — 2 Peter 1:20–21

Peter reminds us that Scripture did not originate merely from human ideas, opinions, or human will. The prophets spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

That means we should approach God’s Word with humility and reverence. We are not free to change Scripture to fit our preferences or make it say whatever we want. Instead, we should carefully study it, seek to understand what God has revealed, and allow His Word to correct and guide us.

📖 We don't determine what is true. God has revealed truth, and we are called to receive it, understand it, believe it, and live according to it.

God’s Word is trustworthy because it comes from God.

Stand on the Word. Trust the Author.

John 17:17 — God’s Word Is Truth

Jesus did not teach that truth is whatever we personally decide it should be. He pointed us to God’s Word as truth.

God’s Word corrects us, teaches us, shapes our hearts, and guides how we live. As followers of Christ, we are called not merely to hear Scripture, but to believe it, obey it, and allow it to transform our lives.

📖 God’s Word is not shaped by us. We are shaped by God’s Word.

Read it. Believe it. Live it.

Jesus Taught About the Sabbath

The Bible tells us what Jesus said and did. He observed the Sabbath, taught its purpose, did good on the Sabbath, and declared Himself Lord of the Sabbath.
