Whew...what a weekend at Emmaus!!! Saturday's hike was refreshing and energetic with amazing people in God's creation, followed by a b**r brewing demo in honor of Martin Luther and his wife Katie (a blast, btw). Sunday worship was a full house with nearly everyone in RED (plus 5 new people!), the debut of our new Bell Choir, an incredible German-themed luncheon, Oktoberfest music, and then a hymn sing! Emmaus is alive and well and FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! Thank you to all who participated!

This should be great.

Free online event:
The Traveler and the Bishop – on “No Kings” and “Christian Nationalism”
Tuesday, Oct 27, 6pm PT (9pm ET)

Join me for a European take on Trump and the state of American democracy (basically my “No Kings” rally speech, updated and with an indoor voice). Then, Lutheran Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee (ELCA) will share a hard look (inspired by scripture) at the perversion of Christianity called "Christian Nationalism."

My talk will share how history is speaking to us — and how, if we listen, we can better understand and meet the challenges facing democracy in the USA. And, whether you consider yourself a person of faith or not, Bishop Shelley’s message will bring a new dimension to your thinking about the place of religion in the political discourse of our country.

Please join us one week before a very big election day. The event is free, but registration is required: https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/travel-classes

And join us in spirit at your local No Kings Day rally, Saturday, Oct 17!
