Saturday, Eagle Catholic hosted its first symposium to promote the integration of faith and academic excellence. Named after St. Hildegard of Bingen, the theme was the dignity of work through the lens of Catholic intellectual tradition, drawing from Pope Leo XIII's encyclical Rerum Novarum.

Many thanks to our amazing speakers, the choir for the recital, USI alum Father Nick Biever celebrating Mass, for our sponsors St. Meinrad School of Theology and Sisters of St. Benedict, We appreciate the committee of USI faculty and staff for thoughtfully guiding it to fruition.

The St. Hildegard Symposium is a new initiative by Eagle Catholic. Inspired by St. Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179)—a Doctor of the Church known for her interdisciplinary expertise—the Symposium promotes the integration of faith and academic excellence. This year’s theme explores the dignity of labor through the lens of Catholic intellectual tradition. Drawing from Pope Leo XIII’s encyclical Rerum Novarum, the Symposium reflects on historical insights to address modern challenges at a pivotal technological and social moment.
