From Tami Dooms:
Please be praying for the family of Vidy Metsker, who went to be with Jesus earlier this week. I’m so grateful for Vidy’s friendship and encouragement through the years, and especially for her faithful example and legacy of sharing the love of Jesus.
Vidy Metsker's celebration of life is to be live-streamed Saturday, 1/16/21 @ 1:00pm Central, (link will also be available after the service):

Following is a part of Dad’s weekly editorial column, being published this weekend in 6 Southern Illinois and Indiana community newspapers:
“When God says “Go”, don’t hesitate ...
Vidy Metsker, at age 97, passed from this life into her eternal reward on January 11, 2021. Vidy wrote: “Sunday evening, February 27, 1938, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and forgive my sin.” Her life was transformed by the Gospel.
Vidy and Al Metsker were married in 1943, and enjoyed nearly 50 years together. Founding Kansas City Youth For Christ one week before their wedding, they served the Lord together in this dynamic ministry: Saturday night YFC Rallies, Bible Clubs, and much more.
Marvelous memories and encounters God allowed us to have with Vidy and Al Metsker fill my heart and mind.
Al’s counsel was indelibly impressed: “If God calls you, go there; stay there; and be there.” Al explained the difference between “staying there“ and “being there.” Knowing I had spoken at YFC rallies all across America, Al advised me to be at TTT every Saturday, with few exceptions.
When TTT doors opened February 5, 1966, two teenagers and a few adults came. God provided a place to house the ministry, and I said that night: “We’ll be here every Saturday, God willing.” We have kept going without exception – January 16 is to be the 2,868th consecutive Saturday – and Lord willing, February 6, 2021 will be our 55th ministry birthday.
Since Al and Vidy Metsker were with us to dedicate the TTT Christian Communication Center November 4, 1978, we have been privileged to reach and teach teenagers from all 50 states, hosting students from over 40 nations, training them in youth evangelism.
Vidy’s passion was to win others to Jesus. That was her focus to her dying breath.
Will you go to Heaven when you take your final breath? You will if you make the commitment to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” Have you? Are you praying and inviting people to turn to Jesus from their sins, ask His forgiveness, totally trusting the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s only begotten Son? Tell people in your world, as Vidy Metsker did: Believe on Christ and you will be saved!”
