Disclaimer: this post is for professing Christians, not anyone else, only professing followers of Jesus Christ. If you don’t wear the title “Christian”, I love you, but this post is NOT for you! 😂💜

What if instead of instead of complaining about our enemies, what they’ve done to us, or what they should have done but didn’t, we instead pray for them? What if we see them through the eyes of their creator, instead of our own human eyes? We are not all-knowing, but He is. What if we could love them in spite of the circumstances, exchange a curse for a blessing, offer mercy and forgiveness to those who in our thinking don’t deserve it? What if we recognized the truth of it, that NONE of us deserve forgiveness and mercy, from the greatest to the least? Would we let the Lord transform our thinking and our lives, to open our eyes to see the true enemy, that isn’t flesh and blood? What if we take a step back and look at the big picture, take a look at who is pulling the strings and manipulating people and situations to leave as many as possible broken, hurting, lonely, angry? What if brokenness in us leads to more brokenness in others, and we’re actually playing into the hands of the enemy by declaring our “rights” when others hurt us? What if instead of the enemy sitting back with a smile and a laugh at how we crumble and fall, instead we give him a look of terror as we plead the blood of Jesus for our enemies and offer forgiveness when no one has even asked it of us? It’s time to wake up, people of God. There is an unseen war happening around us all day, every day. If ever we saw it, we would cling to the cross and pray without ceasing. Though I can sense it, sometimes I would like to actually see it with my own eyes. Then, it would be so much easier to walk the higher road, in compassion and love. But we are told by Jesus that the war is very real, so we should trust Him and take Him at His word. The war is real, brothers and sisters, and we are called to walk the higher road that Jesus did. No one has the authority to dictate otherwise for those of us who are part of God’s Kingdom, not culture, not tradition, not our own wants and desires. I ask you today, are you awake? Do you hear Him calling you to walk the higher road? Are you willing to walk it? Are there “but’s” in your life that are roadblocks to following Jesus fully? Who is it that you least want to show mercy to? Take them to the King, but not in complaining. Intercede for them like you would want someone to intercede for you. Some people make themselves enemies to us, but in reality they just have been blinded by the TRUE enemy. By petitioning the King on their behalf, you upset the kingdom of darkness in a way that I wish we could see with our mortal eyes. Know this: the higher road is often the one least traveled, and there is a reason for that. The higher road is the most difficult, it’s part of crucifying our flesh and carrying our cross in the likeness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Will you FOLLOW HIM today? Let’s be done with the lip-service and actually follow the Christ we profess to follow. Because following someone means you’re heading in the same direction, and THAT makes all the difference.

If the Word of God says something, and we choose to believe something else, is God a liar, or are we deceived? How many Christians are either running around without their weapon, or wielding it in such a reckless way as to be ineffective or injure themselves or someone else? Stay true to the Word, stand firm in the TRUTH, and DO NOT BE MOVED until the Lord tells you to.

Let me be so bold as to say, there is a separation occurring right now in Christian churches everywhere. There are those who call themselves Christians, but there is very little difference between them and the world. They “have a form of godliness, yet deny His power”. They indulge their flesh, and they justify it, saying we have no right to judge.

They may have gifts and talents that could be used for God’s glory, building His Kingdom, but instead they either waste them on things with no eternal value, or bury them in the ground and walk away.

They will always give lip-service about how good God is, keeping up appearances based on who they are around, but then they deny Christ with the way they live, even bringing shame on the cross or leading weaker believers into sinful situations. (They have been deceived by the enemy…and I still love them and pray that they will choose Christ with their entire being.)

And then there is this group of people who dare to believe that God’s Word is true. They are “Christ followers”, who don’t just want to say they believe, but they want to live it. They are radical. They believe their God is who He says He is.

They get called crazy, because they actually have the audacity to believe in a LIVING God, who means what He says and does what He says, and He’s bigger than any devil or evil assignment that comes against them. They walk in holiness because they love the Lord more than they love sin. They overcome and crucify their flesh, because they walk by the very Spirit of God.

They operate in a power that is not their own, and it flows from them through total surrender. Their hearts beat in time with God’s, and they see people through His eyes…even those who would be considered their enemies. Because they see beyond the person who is loved dearly by God, to the enemy that hates and manipulates them. They know the TRUTH, that our real enemy doesn’t wear flesh and blood.

So they don’t go out looking for snakes to handle, but if one presents itself to them, they can be confident in God’s Word. They don’t drink poisonous things on purpose, but they bless their food and drink, and they trust the Lord and his Word. And everything else the Word says, they believe that, too. So they can have FULL CONFIDENCE, in the one they believe in.

They speak the name of Jesus, and demons bow the knee. Illness, too, must obey. They speak what they hear the Lord speaking, and they follow Him and obey Him without compromise. When the world hates them, they rejoice, because the world hated Jesus first. It was never meant to be easy…in fact, you can expect it to be hard. But here’s the thing you won’t understand unless you’ve lived it: Christ can make the most difficult things easy. There is a peace that surpasses all understanding and a joy that overflows, even in the middle of the storms of life!

So yes, there is a dividing line in the sand, and those who would call themselves Christians must decide which side of the line they will be on. Will you stand with the world, with no power to save you, only claiming the name of Christ as a title? Or will you stand with Christ on the firm foundation of His Word, believing that EVERYTHING He said is true? If it’s true, will you walk in it? Will you surrender to the Spirit of the LIVING God, and become an overcomer?

I pray you will choose HIM, in all His fullness. He is the Living Water, the well that never runs dry. He satisfies. He is pure and holy and yet loves us with His entire being. But He loves us too much to leave us in our mess. We give our mess TO Him, and then We live IN Him, and He lives in us.

What is it that marks a disciple of Jesus? Does the Christian faith cost us anything? How many would walk away if prison or death were on the line? How many already have for lesser reasons? Jesus said those who try to save their lives will lose it, but those who lose their lives for Him, for the sake of the Gospel, for His Kingdom, will find it. There is one name we can be saved by, that of Jesus Christ. It is His gift to us, because He loves us so much. But we need to understand, the world hated Him. To be His followers, we will be hated, too. Have we counted the cost? Can we call ourselves Christians but deny Him with the way we live? Let us not be Christians in name only, but truly count the cost of discipleship. May we be found faithful followers in both word and deed. He is worth it. ✝️💜🕊️
