Please welcome to The Salvation Army of Enid on June 28, 2026 our new Commanding Officers Majors Bobby & Nakisha Carr:
Majors Bobby and NaKisha Carr have faithfully served as officers with The Salvation Army since 2003, dedicating over two decades to ministry across various appointments throughout the Southern Territory. Their passion for serving others and advancing the mission of The Salvation Army has been evident in every community they have been called to serve.
NaKisha is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Bobby is originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas. The couple was married in January 1999 and are blessed with two adult children, Bobilyn Carr Weldy and Noah Carr. They recently celebrated the addition of their son-in-law, Samuel Weldy, to their family.
Before entering full-time ministry, Bobby served honorably in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a career in local law enforcement, serving communities in Little Rock and Fort Smith, Arkansas, as well as surrounding areas.
NaKisha pursued her education at Rose State College, Northern Oklahoma College (Tonkawa campus), and the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith, where she and Bobby first met. Throughout her early years, she gained valuable experience working in the food service industry, youth services, and with The Salvation Army—laying the foundation for a lifetime of ministry.
Together, the Carrs bring a deep love for people, a strong sense of mission, and a heart for service. Their ministry has included leadership in homeless shelters, transitional housing programs, social services, corps ministry, and thrift store operations—each role reflecting their commitment to meeting both physical and spiritual needs.
As they look ahead, Majors Carr are excited and honored to serve the Enid community. They are eager to build meaningful relationships with community leaders, staff, volunteers, and the corps congregation. With hearts for collaboration and compassion, they look forward to working alongside others to bring hope, help, and healing to those in need throughout Enid.
