We’re excited to add a new Sunday morning service at 10am, beginning Sunday, September 13. We would love to have you join us at 10AM or 5PM. Jesus is present and at work and moving towards us. Always. That's the incredibly good news that meets us at every turn.

Big news!

On September 13, Nova will begin a new Sunday morning worship gathering!

We will now have two worship gatherings: our Sunday evening service at 5:00 PM and a new Sunday morning service at 10:00 AM.

Inviting people to enjoy life with God. That's what we are about.

Jesus has opened the door and made it possible for us to know and experience God’s renewing presence in our everyday lives. The same invitation Jesus gives us, he calls us to extend to others.

We want to set more tables so more people can experience the goodness of God.
Of course, this is not just about a worship gathering. There are so many ways God invites us to set both literal and figurative tables. In fact, at Nova, we are about to begin a year-long focus on the hospitality of God as we seek to set more and more tables for our neighbors to taste and see for themselves that God is good.

“Sharing a meal is how we know we are not alone in this world.” - Stephanie Gravalese, food culture critic and writer. Meals are incredibly important in the Christian Scriptures. Consider the ministry of Jesus. One biblical scholar says that in the gospel of Luke, Jesus is either on his way to a meal, at a meal, or coming from a meal. Sharing a meal with someone is how Jesus reveals who he is. Sharing a meal is how people get a taste of the goodness of God, the wideness of God's welcome, and the hospitality at the heart of God. Sharing a meal with someone is how we know we aren't alone in the world. And that the Kingdom is among us. And that the King is a really gracious host. Sharing a meal with someone is how we know we aren't alone in the world. Text someone and invite them to grab lunch this week. Set the extra place at the table. Get to know someone slowly over a good meal. Ask your neighbor to meet up for tacos. Trust that Jesus is present and at work.

Jesus is present and at work. One of our core values as a church is sacrificial hospitality. Creating space. Practicing generous welcome. Making lots of room for others. Cultivating connection and belonging together and wherever God puts us. We were made for a life of friendship- with Jesus and with others. According to one study, Denver is the 3rd loneliest city in the U.S.

We want to be an antidote to the loneliness so many of us feel. It starts with sacrificial hospitality. And really it starts with each one of us experiencing (again and again, every day) the divine hospitality of our generous God.

Starting this fall, Nova will dive into a whole year centered on the hospitality of God. As we continue to experience God's generous welcome of us, we look to practice hospitality towards others, looking for every opportunity to set tables for our neighbors so they can taste and see God's goodness firsthand. Jesus knew what it meant to be under pressure. To experience the demands of others, "everyone is looking for you, Jesus!" The pull to root one's identity in what you do. But Jesus shows us another way. A way rooted in the unforced rhythms of grace (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG). This past Sunday, we saw Jesus creates margin– SPACE– to be with God. Regularly. Space to catch his breath. To be grounded and rooted in the love of God.

There is a spaciousness to the life of Jesus. We are invited into that- to experience that. And to live like that.
Jesus, help us to keep company with you and learn your spacious way of moving through the world.

Every Sunday we gather. Trusting there is a goodness in physically being together. In the same room. Lifting our voices. Praying. Hearing God's word. Speaking peace over each other. Coming to the Lord's table together. We take up these practices week after week after week. Trusting Jesus is present and at work. Spirit, move freely! Jesus is making all things new. Including us. Including this world that God so dearly loves. See you on Sunday.
