Today at I AM Worship Church was a powerful day of celebration, transition, and spiritual challenge. On Baptism Sunday, we rejoiced as six people publicly declared their faith in Jesus through water baptism, sharing with our church family that their old life is behind them and they are walking forward in Christ. We also took time to honor and thank Pastor LeRae Hargis for her faithful leadership in . For two years, she has poured into our children, supported families, and helped build a strong foundation for the next generation. As she enters a season focused on her own home and personal healing, we expressed our gratitude for her service. We were also excited to commission Jacob and Faith Masters as the new leaders of . Their willingness to answer God's call and say "yes" to this assignment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our children's ministry.
Today also marked the launch of The SUMMONS, a new sermon series by Pastor Mark Ogletree, beginning with a message titled "Don't Miss the Season." Drawing from 2 Kings 2, Pastor Mark challenged us through the story of Elisha's pursuit of Elijah's mantle. The message centered on a critical question: Are we truly present for what God is doing, or are we simply going through the motions? We were reminded that there is a difference between being physically present and spiritually engaged. Just as many in Jerusalem celebrated Jesus without recognizing who He truly was, it is possible to attend church, participate in ministry, and still miss the divine moments God places before us.
The message emphasized that everything has a season, and wisdom is not only knowing the season we're in, but understanding what God requires of us during that season. We were challenged by the example of the Israelites, who stood at the edge of the Promised Land but failed to enter because of fear, only to discover the opportunity had passed. Pastor Mark reminded us that recognition without response equals ignorance. Like the tribe of Issachar, we must be people who discern the times and know what to do. The call was clear: don't be a spectator when God is moving. Stay engaged, pursue what God is doing, and don't miss the mantle, opportunity, or assignment He has placed within your reach. It was a powerful start to a series that is already calling our church to greater awareness, deeper faith, and intentional obedience.
