JOIN US TOMORROW FOR WORSHIP! Laodicea, the church that locked Jesus out.

In Revelation 2-3 are the seven letters to real churches in real cities in the Roman province of Asia which is modern day Western Turkey. These letters are a mirror. These are not just ancient history but real instruction and warning for us today.

Jesus begins with describing them from a particular aspect of Himself. Next Jesus acknowledges their labor, service, faith, etc.. Of the 7 letters, 5 begin with a genuine commendation. Then comes the critique. “but I have this against you."

This Sunday we will cover the last of the seven churches; Laodicea. They were wealthy, comfortable, and were maintaining an appearance but they were not changed and they didn't challenge change. They had no impact on their community and were good with meeting for the sake of meeting. They found value in tradition rather than the presence of Jesus. They leaned on status quo and were comfortable in their ambiguity. And Jesus gives them an ultimatum which is good for us as well.
