To God Be Praised! What another blessed worship service at OHBC yesterday! The praise team ushered us into the Lord’s presence with Zion songs. It was a great reminder that “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6). It was also a blessing to partake of the Lord’s Supper together!

Matthew 14:22-33 provided the text for the sermon titled “Faith in Rough Waters.”

What do you do when the storm arrives while you are obeying Christ? In the text, the disciples found themselves in exactly that situation, and Jesus came to them walking on the water in their darkest moments. After Jesus assures the disciples that it is Him, take heart and be not afraid, the record says Peter makes a bold and astonishing request. In verse 28, Peter says, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”

Note, if you will, Jesus’s response. He did not say, “Be careful where you step. Make sure you have your life jacket on just in case.” Jesus said one word, “Come” (v. 29). The text teaches us that a miracle is always possible whenever you are willing to walk towards the Master.

Soon after Peter’s bold request, his faith was challenged when he looked at the wind and took his eyes off Jesus. Peter began to sink because he stopped trusting the one who told him to “Come.” Faith kept Peter on the water. Doubt pulled him underneath the water. When Peter cried, “Lord, save me!” Jesus did not hesitate. He lifted Peter above what was pulling him under. When Jesus and Peter stepped back into the boat together, the Bible says the wind ceased. That is the power of Jesus’s presence!

This passage shows that faith requires courage, conviction, and completion. The same God who provided for you on the shores of life is the same god who provides for you on the seas of life. If you are in a storm right now, remember this: what is above your head is still below His feet!

Join us on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Have a blessed week!

We thank God for today's spirit-filled corporate worship. The praise team ushered us into the Lord’s presence with Zion songs. They reminded us what it means to “O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth” (Ps 96:1; see also Ps 34:4).

Today’s Sermon: “The Value of Wisdom” – Proverbs 2:1-6

Pastor Cox reminded us that wisdom is not found through acquiring information or life experience alone—it comes from God, and we must seek it intentionally.

We live in a world overflowing with information, yet true wisdom remains rare. True wisdom comes only from God, and it must be sought, treasured, and received with a willing heart.

Proverbs 2:1-6 reminds us that wisdom is not accidental. Like silver hidden underground, it must be dug for. Those who truly value it will search for it. When we receive God's Word, treasure it, and walk before Him in reverence, He gives us what we need for daily living.
Solomon had the chance to ask God for anything and chose wisdom. God has made that same invitation available to every believer. James 1:5 promises that if you ask God for wisdom, He will give it generously.

Join us as we continue seeking the wisdom only God can provide. “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Prov 2:6).

Praying for our students, teachers, staff, and administrators as they head back to school. We ask that the Lord grant our children the hunger to grow in wisdom and knowledge, fill our teachers with patience and strength, and give school administrators and staff clear vision, grace, and integrity to lead safely and lovingly in Your name.

OHBC Worship Service - July 19, 2026. We thank the Lord for another blessed opportunity to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. The OHBC Praise Team blessed us with Zion songs to prepare our hearts for worship. The sermon message came from John 15:1-5 – “Living a Fruitful Life.” Pastor Cox challenged us to examine what it truly means to live a fruitful life—not through religious effort, but through a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. We must make sure we are connected to the “True Vine,” Jesus Christ.

God is the Vinedresser. He plants us, prunes us, and prepares us for a purpose greater than ourselves. The pruning process may be painful, but it is always intentional. God removes what we cling to so we can see whom we cannot live without.

The reminder is simple but powerful: apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Our fruit is not produced by our strength, intelligence, or achievement—it comes from abiding in Him, His Word, His love, and His joy.

We look forward to worshipping with you again soon!

On this Father’s Day, we pause to honor fathers who lead, love, protect, and pour into others. Psalm 103:13 declares, “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”

What a powerful message for Father’s Day! Join us for Sunday morning worship tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., as we give thanks to the Lord for all of His bountiful blessings.
