• Joel Beeke as he travels and preaches at the Head and Heart Conference.

• Our students, that their study of The Doctrine of Man would not remain merely academic, but bear fruit in their souls and ministries.

• Our conference volunteers, who have already labored hard behind the scenes and will be serving throughout the week.

Pray that Christ would be honored in all of it.

Today we remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation. While our country is imperfect and, at times, embraces sins that grieve us, we still thank God for the great heritage and many mercies he has given us as a people.

The sacrifice of these men and women has helped preserve freedoms we too easily take for granted, including the freedom of religion. That freedom allows us to openly proclaim the Word of God and train pastors for public ministry without fear of interference or persecution.

To those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we remember you with gratitude. And to the families who carry that loss, we pray that “the Father of mercies and God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3) would draw near to you on this day of remembrance.
