We exist to connect individuals and families in crisis to the physical, financial, social, and spiritual resources needed to alleviate the immediate crisis, as well as partnering with clients and the community to create long-term plans for stability.

School is officially out, and for the first time since opening our doors, we are experiencing summer at The Refuge.

The campus has come alive with the laughter, energy, and excitement of children. Bikes are being ridden, friendships are being formed, and kids who have been carrying heavy burdens are getting the chance to simply be kids for a little while.

As we step into this season, we are overwhelmed by the people and churches who are investing in the families we serve. Some are providing transportation so families can attend church together. Others are collecting food to help keep our pantry stocked during the summer months when children are home from school. Some are planning Vacation Bible Schools, movie and popcorn nights, special activities, and opportunities that our kids absolutely love.

To everyone who has given, volunteered, prayed, encouraged, or simply stopped by and seen the campus bustling with life—thank you. Your support is helping create more than a temporary place to stay. You are helping create memories, build community, and remind families that they are not walking this journey alone.

And if you’ve been praying for The Refuge staff as we navigate our very first summer season, thank you for that too. We feel those prayers every day.

What a gift it is to watch hope grow, one family and one child at a time.

There’s a story we never grow tired of sharing. Every time we tell it, we are humbled and amazed all over again. God is up to something incredible!

There is a place where people from all walks of life, multiple denominations, all different ages, races, ethnicities and social statuses come together in unity. They choose to lay down their differences and take up loving and serving their neighbors in need. They give of their time, energy, knowledge, and resources. They offer hope. They gather in prayer. And they keep coming back because there’s something so powerful about giving yourself away for things that matter so much to the heart of God.

If we’ve never had a chance to come share about the work of Conway Ministry Center in your church or group, please invite us!

If you’re looking for a place to serve or give, let’s get coffee… or better yet, schedule a tour to come and see for yourself what God is up to at the CMC!

We love seeing people in our community find creative ways to give back!

A UCA class recently hosted a fundraiser where they pied their professors (for a good cause!) and raised over $400. They then used those funds to purchase hygiene items for the Conway Ministry Center.

It’s fun, it’s creative, and it makes a real difference.

We’re so grateful for groups like this who find ways to care for our neighbors! It all adds up, and it matters more than you know. ❤️

Ever wonder what it actually costs to keep the shelves stocked at the Conway Ministry Center? 🛒

In this video, you’ll walk through our pantry with one of our shoppers as the prices of everyday items pop up on the screen—because every can, every box, every loaf of bread represents a family we get to serve with dignity and love.

As summer approaches, we’re launching something BIG:
✨ SPONSOR OUR SHELVES ✨

For $1,300, your business, church, Sunday school class, small group, or family can completely restock ONE FULL SECTION of our pantry shelves at the Storehouse.

That means:
🥫 Meals for families facing food insecurity
🧃 Snacks for children
🍝 Pantry staples for seniors and individuals in crisis
❤️ Hope placed directly into someone’s hands

And here’s the fun part:
When you sponsor a shelf, we’ll spotlight your group as the official sponsor of that section! 👏

Who wants to take the challenge? Tag a business, church, or friend group that should sponsor a shelf! 👇

Give here: https://www.conwayministrycenter.org/refuge

Because empty shelves don’t feed people… but a community working together absolutely can.

Today at the Conway Ministry Center, we were honored to welcome Stephanie Rose from the UCA Addiction Studies Program for a hands-on Narcan training and conversation about how we, as a community, can better serve individuals struggling with addiction. Moments like this matter because they remind us that compassion, education, and preparedness can truly save lives.

At the Ministry Center, we believe every person deserves dignity, support, and the opportunity to be met with hope in the middle of hardship. Trainings like these help equip our staff and volunteers to engage safely, intentionally, and compassionately with those navigating addiction and crisis.

We are especially thankful for our continued partnership with the UCA Community Clinic and UCA programs that continue to invest in the health and well-being of our neighbors. These relationships strengthen the work happening inside our walls and help enhance the level of care, support, and resources available to the people we serve every day. It takes all of us working together to create lasting change in our community.

Today at the Refuge in honor of Mother’s Day, we paused to honor some incredibly strong women—the mothers who are walking through some of life’s hardest seasons with faith, courage, and steadfast love for their families. These women continue to show up for their children day after day, even while facing barriers that many of us could never imagine carrying. We believe they deserve to be celebrated.

The event was filled with sweet moments of joy and hope as our friends at Seed and Sower spent time creating special memories with the children by helping them make handmade gifts for their moms. The evening also included a message of encouragement from our Director, reminding every mother in the room that her story is not over and that her value is not defined by her current circumstances.

As you look through these pictures, we ask that you commit to praying for every family represented here—and for the mothers who couldn’t be with us tonight. Pray that they would come to know deeply that they are seen, loved, and worthy. Pray that each woman would grow to understand the strength, dignity, and beauty she carries as a Proverbs 31 woman. ❤️

You may not look at these kind faces and automatically think of the word FIERCE, but we do.

They are FIERCELY passionate about serving struggling families.

They are FIERCE advocates for a better future for our children.

They are FIERCELY committed to this community.

Thank you, Claudia Courtway, for bringing this gift in honor of our partnership with Conway School District. The real gift is working alongside you!
