At Conover Evangelical Free Church, our mission statement of Making, Maturing, Multiplying for Christ expresses our primary biblical responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ from Matthew’s Gospel 28:19-20. CEFC is a Bible-teaching, Bible-believing, Bible-living church. We place the highest view possible on the Scriptures. The CEFC family prioritizes clear teaching of the Bible, inspiring worshi

p through music, connecting people through ministries, and by providing a safe and educational environment for children of all ages. The purpose of this page is to connect the Northwoods community with the CEFC family through meaningful content and timely posts. We believe Facebook is another tool allowing us to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ into the lives of all people.

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, Bill Allison with Cadre Missionaries delivered a message to Conover Evangelical Free Church based on Isaiah 6:1–9.

He began by asking: Are we too religious to miss God?

What do we say the first time we encounter God seated on his throne? Isaiah said, “Woe is me!”

Are you religious or do you belong to a community of believers?

Religion does not direct your attention to God, the Father who sits on the throne. Faith in Christ directs your attention to God the Father and Jesus the Son and invites you to accept God’s free gift of salvation and the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Do you see and acknowledge sin in your own life? Does that cause you to run to Jesus where God the Father accepts you as you are?
Do you confess your sin, and through repentance release that sin to God? We are to confess, repent and release sin. Through acknowledging sin, confession and repentance, we qualify for God’s grace and are cleansed from all unrighteousness.

Guilt is removed because sin has been atoned for by Christ’s death on the cross. Jesus Who conquered death and sin, sets us free though His righteousness. The more we are forgiven the more we embrace God’s love.

Christ’s church gathers together and Believers are sent, commissioned to share Christ.

Bill Allison asked us to join in the adventure of sharing Christ with The Disciple Maker‘s Prayer based on the following scripture verses.
Deuteronomy 6:1–9
Mark 3:13–14 and 12: 30–31
Matthew 28:18–20
John 17:20
Acts 1:8
1 Corinthians 4:16–17

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Bill Allison from Cadre Missionaries explored the topic of disciple making at Conover Evangelical Free Church.

For over three hours almost 40 participants were directed to focus on Jesus, exploring how to be a disciple, who makes disciples and how each of us is encouraged to make more disciples.

Each person received the Disciple Makers Living Guide. There were numerous opportunities to interact with other attendees and discuss how we each can tell others the Good News about Jesus Christ.

Pastor Josh Matthews continues his sermon series: 52 Weeks through the Bible - Week 4
Nations: The Tower of Babel

Man decided to reach the heavens building the Tower of Babel.
However, God confused their one common language into many languages so the people could not understand one another and would disperse and multiply their tribes in different locations around the earth.

In Pentecost, after the resurrection of Jesus, new Believers heard the3 Apostles in one language - no more confusion! God speaks to all His Creation in the common language of Love. through Christ.

Pastor Josh Matthews continued his Sermon Series:
52 Weeks Through the Bible Part 3 on May 17, 2026.
Week 3 - Flood ~ Regrets ~ Rescue

Text: Genesis 6:5 – 9:17

After Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan, mankind’s depraved spirit caused God to experience sorrow and grief over those created in His image. God called Noah and instructed him to construct an ark. Noah believed God, loved God and obeyed God to build the ark.

Once Noah, his family and two of each animal kind were inside the ark, God closed the door and steered the ark that had no rudder. In complete faith Noah trusted and obeyed.

Noah could exit the ark only in obedience to God once the flood waters had receded. However, Noah was not given Dominion over the Earth as Adam and Eve previously had dominion. That was taken by Satan once man’s sin nature ruled.

Consider this: Do I live by faith?
Am I the person through whom God moves?
We have today no assurance of tomorrow.
