THE CHRISTIAN IS LED BY CHRIST

The Law was given through Moses. He was a marvelous leader of his people, but he could not take them to the Promised Land. The Law can never get God’s people to the promised land. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Joshua, the successor of Moses, defeated the enemies of the people and led them into the Promised Land. Jesus defeats our enemies and shepherds us as his flock. The gracious Gospel of forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus is the only way to the promised land of heaven. Jesus leads us all the way there.

THE CHRISTIAN IS A SINNER LOVED BY GOD

They never forgot their past. Moses never forgot how he killed a man in a fit of anger. Paul never forgot how he had savaged the Church of God. Matthew never forgot how he had collaborated with Roman occupiers to collect taxes from his own people—and likely enrich himself in the process.

But God forgot their past. No, he didn’t suddenly get amnesia or lose his omniscience, but he “forgot their past” in the sense that he forgave their sins, erased their debt, and even called them to proclaim his mercy. Only mercy can explain why Jesus brings people to faith and promises them salvation. Only grace can explain how he calls them to serve as they are able, even in the ministry of the gospel.

Christians are sinners whom God has mercifully called. Because the Christian is loved by God.

We have wrapped up another wonderful school year, and we are filled with gratitude for the many blessings God has provided along the way. During our last few days, students have enjoyed class trips, fun days at school, celebrating friendships and making lasting memories together. We also gathered for our Closing Service, giving thanks to God for His guidance and blessings throughout the year.

A special congratulations goes out to our graduates as they take the next step in their journey. We pray that God will continue to lead and guide them in all they do.

Thank you to our students, families, teachers, staff, and supporters for making this school year such a success. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled summer. We look forward to seeing you again next school year!

Have a wonderful summer! ☀️

We believe in the triune God. He is the only true God. The festival of the Holy Trinity is a time to celebrate God revealing himself to us as one God in three persons. The triune God wants his people to teach this mystery in its biblical truth and purity. This festival of the Holy Trinity begins the second half of the Church Year with a proclamation of people being baptized and blessed in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, the only true God.

Without the resurrection of Jesus, my uncertainty can easily lead to anxiety. I am waiting for everything to turn out, and not knowing what will happen is much harder if I think I cannot rely on anyone. It’s been a long time since Jesus ascended into heaven. Sometimes I suffer. Has he forgotten about me?

He lives, and it makes a difference. I know how my life will turn out, and that certainty about the future helps with life’s present difficulties. While I wait in the time between Christ’s ascension and his return on judgment day, I know that God will work everything out for my good.

This week in chapel, we were blessed to welcome Pastor Tom Moldenhauer from Luther Prep in Watertown, Wisconsin, who led us in worship and shared a powerful message based on Psalm 46.

Pastor Moldenhauer reminded us that the world around us is often chaotic and noisy, constantly sending messages that tell us we need more—more money, more friends, more success—or that we don’t need God to be happy. Sometimes the loudest voices come from within, whether it’s pride telling us we can handle everything on our own, or fear and anxiety making us feel uncertain.

But God speaks louder than all of that.

Through Psalm 46, we were reminded of the comfort found in these words: “He lifts His voice, and the earth melts.” Our God is stronger than the chaos, greater than our fears, and able to quiet every anxious thought. In Him, we are safe. He carries our pain, suffering, and worries, giving us peace through His promises.

Because of Christ, we can be still. We can rest peacefully and calmly in God’s Word, knowing that heaven is our home.

Pastor Moldenhauer also shared with us about life at Luther Prep School. At Luther Prep, students grow in God’s Word every day while being equipped to share the message of Jesus with the world. Students come from all across the country to live and learn on campus, where they enjoy many opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. From athletics to drama and music, student life at Luther Prep is filled with ways to develop God-given talents while growing in faith.

After chapel, Pastor Moldenhauer spent some time in each of our classrooms answering questions about life at Luther Prep.

Thank you, Pastor Moldenhauer, for sharing God’s comforting promises with us and for giving us a glimpse into the blessings of Lutheran highschool education!

Last week was certainly a busy and special one at Christ Lutheran! Along with the excitement of our school musical on Friday, we spent the week celebrating and showing our appreciation for our amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Each day included a special breakfast or lunch for our teachers, and students had the opportunity to present thoughtful gifts such as flowers or beef sticks, along with notes sharing words that reminded them of their teacher and why they are so special. Students also had fun completing worksheets and Mad Libs all about their teachers, sharing many smiles and laughs along the way.

A special thank you also goes to the parents and grandparents who stepped in to cover recess duty throughout the week. Your help gave our teachers some extra time for lunch, preparation, and a little well-deserved break.

We are so thankful for the incredible teachers, families, and supporters who make Christ Lutheran School such a wonderful place to learn and grow! 💙🍎✏️

We are filled with joy as we celebrate a very special moment for one of our 5th grade students, who received the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit in holy baptism this past Sunday.

The service was made even more meaningful as her classmates shared their love and support by singing a special song, while her teacher served as her sponsor.

We rejoice in welcoming her into our church family and pray that God richly blesses her as she continues to grow in her faith. May he graciously strengthen her faith and guide her in his love and grace each day.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” – 1 John 3:1

Without the resurrection of Jesus, I would be tempted to live only for myself. After all, I have to be in good shape before I can be of help to anyone else, right? I think I know what’s right for me, and I can identify when other people are standing in the way of my self-improvement. If Jesus is dead, I don’t have to worry about what he said or what he thinks.

But he lives, and it makes a difference. He takes care of my basic needs. He promises to do more for me than I can imagine. He puts people into my life so I can help them. Now I live for him.
