Engaging with content—liking, commenting, or sharing—actually strengthens your parasocial connection with media personalities. The algorithm notices this engagement, helping content go viral. Regularly inviting viewers to interact is key to fostering these relationships.

A day, a month, a year – these have clear astronomical explanations. But the 7-day week? It has no natural basis. Discover its surprising origins rooted in ancient scripture and tradition.

We need a bridge between where people are and where we want them to be in a relationship. This idea of 'parasocial evangelism' creates the illusion of a relationship with media figures, serving as an effective on-ramp to proclamation and genuine connection. It's not a replacement, but a prelude that opens the door.

A pastor walked into a smoothie shop and was recognized by the cashier. This encounter, fueled by a parasocial connection from online content, sparked an immediate spiritual conversation. It's amazing how digital presence can create shortcuts to deeper relationships.

Saying no to clients who don't align with your rates or boundaries is hard, but crucial. It sets expectations, normalizes fair pay for creatives, and opens doors for the right opportunities.

Here Is Your Chance to Serve on the SAC Board

Have you ever considered serving on the Society of Adventist Communicators (SAC) board? Over the years, many members have asked, “How can I get on the SAC board?” Now, there is a clear and simple way to share your interest.

SAC is inviting communicators, creatives, storytellers, and ministry-minded professionals to complete a short board interest application. The form gives you an opportunity to share a little about yourself, your experience, and the area of communication you would be excited to represent.

Whether your passion is communication, graphic design, marketing, photography, public relations and strategic communications, video production, podcasting, writing, social media, or another related field, SAC would like to hear from you. The board benefits from a variety of voices, backgrounds, and skills that help strengthen the organization’s mission and service to Adventist communicators.

Serving on the SAC board is more than attending meetings. It is an opportunity to help shape conversations, support professional growth, encourage collaboration, and inspire communicators who are using their gifts for the Church. It is also a chance to represent the needs and ideas of others who share your calling to communicate with clarity, creativity, and purpose.

If you have been looking for a way to get involved, this is your chance. Complete the short application, tell SAC about your interests, and share how you would like to serve.

Your voice, gifts, and passion for communication may be exactly what SAC needs for the next chapter of its ministry.

A powerful quote reminds us: Communication builds trust, boundaries protect it. Clear contracts and communication protocols establish mutual respect, preventing misalignment. Always use a written agreement, especially with friends or family, to define scope, deliverables, and payment terms. Boundaries safeguard your focus, time, and reputation.

We brought in young adults for a focus group, fed them pizza, and let them rip apart our social media. One kid's comment, 'You'd think they'd hire someone to oversee this,' hit hard. Turns out, they did – it was me! Their honest feedback completely changed our Instagram strategy.
