HOW IT STARTED, HOW’S IT GOING?
When we launched the Elder in Training [EIT] initiative at Younger Generation Church it was in recognition that many of our children who have grown up in the church were already leading in ministry long before they reached their young adulthood. To acknowledge this fact, and to continue to pour into them, the EIT program was sparked, and to our delight adopted by other ministries at Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church. This weekend was a powerful example of building these leadership bridges in the local church.

REVIVE COMMUNITY CARE ELDER: JAYLEN JACKSON
Jaylen Jackson is a recent Burton Adventist Academy graduate who will be attending Andrews University in the Fall to pursue a degree in Aviation. He is the eldest son of Jesse and Heidi Jackson. His induction this Sabbath as a Revive Community Care Elder should come as no surprise even though his mother, Pastor Heidi, now serves as the Revive Director. In fourth grade, Jaylen began passionately saving his birthday money in order to give it to the REVIVE Food Pantry and has been active in community service throughout his life. The devotion to serving others is the ministry hallmark of his family which Jaylen carries with honorable distinction.

Your children do not need a chaos-free world to grow a resilient faith. They need to see what trusting God looks like when life feels uncertain.

In this month’s Real Family Talk column, Willie and Elaine Oliver explore how parents can help children face fear and anxiety with resilience, faith, and hope.

Being present. Listening without dismissing their feelings. Praying together. Building daily habits of gratitude and Scripture. These simple moments can help children learn that they never face life alone.

Read “Peace in the Chaos” and discover practical ways to help your children trust God in an anxious world.

EMPHASIZE YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILIES EVERYWHERE

PUT THE PUZZLE TOGETHER
“Deirdre’s easy to understand content was exactly what our teens and parents needed,” lauded Oddie Olazaran pastor for UNDERGROUND the teen ministry of Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church “We want to help families feel comfortable with navigating the Scriptures; Deirdre helped us with this goal.”

NAVIGATING THE ANATOMY OF THE BIBLE
Explore study skills and build confidence you can bring home to your family. Move from merely reading the Bible to knowing GOD and living the Word through your life. Deirdre offers insights as to the physiology of the Scriptures, revealing the inter-connectivity, functional structure, organic intent to reveal Jesus throughout. This workshop will help you see how the whole Bible works to transform lives, and equip you to open it up at home, with confidence instead of hesitation.

PRESENTER: DEIRDRE RIVERA-MARTIN, BSN, RN
Deirdre Rivera-Martin has served as a Neo-natal Intensive Care nurse for over 40 years. She and Pastor A Allan Martin, her husband, have toured internationally speaking on relationships, leadership and Christian lifestyle. Deirdre is the ministry founder of FLOURISH, which gives special emphasis to Biblical literacy and organic discipleship.

“Why isn’t the church teaching all of us how to do this?” remarked a father attending the workshop.

Thanks to FLOURISH, we’re starting to make Bible literacy and organic discipleship more of a priority.
