The summer break is coming to an end, and Welcome Sunday is the perfect time to come back together at Ebenezer!

Think of Welcome Sunday as a little bit community fair, a little bit family reunion and a whole lot of fun for all ages. Enjoy fellowship, games and snacks starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Reception Room. Worship follows at 10:30. Bring friends--there's a place for everyone!

With grateful hearts we congratulate Bishop Ginny Aebischer on her retirement today from the South Carolina Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We give thanks for her many years of faithful ministry and spiritual leadership and pray that God will richly bless this next chapter with peace and joy.

Save the Date: Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10:30am at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Lexington SC for the Installation of Bishop-Elect Wade Roof as Bishop of South Carolina Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Let us lift him up in prayer as he moves toward transitioning to his new role.

Congratulations to The Reverend Zachary Edward Lindler who was ordained today at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC. He was with Ebenezer for two years while he was a student at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. Rev. Lindler has been called to serve as pastor of St. James Lutheran Church in Graniteville, SC. We wish him a blessed and long ministry, guided by the Holy Spirit. ✝️

We had a great time serving a meal tonight with our friends at Reformation Lutheran Church as part of their Safe Space Dinners ministry for homeless LGBTQ youth. Many thanks to all the Ebenezer volunteers who planned, baked, served, bought supplies and made decorations. Thanks also to our members who purchased supplies for the backpacks that are distributed to the young people at the dinners.

Today we welcomed The Reverend Rick Carter as our interim pastor. Throughout his ministry, Pastor Rick has served the church in many roles, including Mission Developer, Pastoral Counselor, Director for Evangelical Mission and Assistant to the Bishop of the South Carolina Synod. We're thankful for Pastor Rick's leadership as we enter this season of discernment together.
