This year’s Vacation Bible School took place on Snowball Mountain and was full of fun and fellowship as well as skits, Bible stories and snacks. There were lessons about Joseph’s interpretation of dreams, Queen Esther’s bravery, Jesus praying before being arrested and Peter and John healing a lame man. The kids jumped over a polo bear, crawled through a tunnel, survived an icy lake and walked through the forest, being careful not to awaken the sleeping yak! Many thanks to all who made it happen, especially “Ms. Pat” for the amazing decorations. And a big THANK YOU to Pastor Paul.

It was a weekend for reflection, gratitude, laughter and more than a few tears as we celebrated Pastor Paul Aebischer’s retirement from Lutheran ministry. During the past eight years his unwavering faith, wisdom, compassion, vision and optimism have led the people of Ebenezer toward new pathways of service to God, our church, our community and one another. As our mission statement declares, “Christ’s love shines here!”

As we look to the future expectantly, we pray that God will continue to bless Pastor Paul, Bishop Ginny and their family as they begin a new chapter. “I will give you shepherds after my own heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
