Calling all Columbia-based artists!

Q***rfish Studio is looking for visual and literary art to display in their "Shield the Joyous" exhibition. The exhibition will be located at Washington Street United Methodist Church from October 11th to the 18th. Artists that are Q***r or Allies to the Q***r community are eligible to submit their works.

All works must be submitted by October 1st and may be sent to Wayne Hall at [email protected]. Please include your name, the title of your art, medium, dimensions, and a photo of your work. You must be able to bring your art to the church (located at 1401 Washington Street) to be eligible!

The Active Faith Yard Sale is just under a month away! All are invited to Washington Street UMC on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th to peruse the many wonderful items we will have for sale!

Starting September 16th, you can also donate sellable items to the yard sale! Before you do, please go to wsmethodist.org/yard-sale to view a list of prohibited items.

Proceeds will go to the ministry efforts of our Active Faith team.

Grab your popcorn and head to the movies! The Social Justice Action Team will be hosting a screening of the film "1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture." This film delves into the history of the word "homosexual" being added to the bible and how that shifted public perception of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The screening will be at The Nickelodeon Theater on September 26th at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $5 per person and proceeds will go towards the ministry efforts of SJAT.
