It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to let you know that our beloved George Sheffer III. has gone to be with God. On the evening of Sunday, August 30, 2026, George passed away peacefully at Pike Peak Hospice. He was surrounded by family and was not in pain. A memorial will be planned in George's honor in the coming weeks. The Dale house will provide more details once they are available.

For those wanting to send their condolences to the family, please send all written communication to Luke Sheffer at 822 Caramillo, Colorado Springs CO 80907. As many of you already know, Jane has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and is not fully aware of George's passing (despite being with him at the time). Please know she is being cared for and well loved by family and friends. Should you wish to give a financial gift towards her long term memory care, please do so at the address above.

ADDING COLOR TO THE GARDEN!
After raking out the dead leaves and plants, we made our own mulch and began adding color to the garden! We pulled out the cinderblocks and chose colors to help add brightness and color to the space!
In the photo, we painted cinderblocks to add color and life to the garden. In doing so, we were able to express each of our unique personalities!

DALE HOUSE GARDEN RESTORATION
We are excited to share a new chapter in our journey with the garden! After a period of stillness, the process of renewal is beginning! Our group is restarting the garden to create a shared space where we can learn, work together and enjoy fresh, homegrown plants, vegetables, and fruits. The soil is being turned, new seeds will be planted, and new structures are being created.
In this photo, we are pulling out the tarp beneath the soil and raking up dead plants and leaves. This is the beginning of restoring the foundation!
