Equip me, Lord…

With the belt of truth (v. 14). May Your truth rule in my heart, be in my mind, and on my lips today.

With the breastplate of righteousness (v. 14). Apart from You there is no righteousness, but through Jesus I’m made righteous in Your sight.

With feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace (v. 15). May I reflect the gospel in my words and actions, that through me, with my every encounter, others may be drawn one step closer to You.

Benni Illes met Navigator Mark Newell when he was a student at a university in Hungary in 2014. As they built a relationship, Mark taught Benni how to read the Bible and what it looked like to live in faith.

Now, Benni has been on staff with The Navigators in Budapest for 10 years. His ministry is defined by passing along the lessons that Mark once taught him.

Paul never discipled people in a way where they were kept small. He didn't just make room for people, he lifted them up. He helped them see their potential in Christ and called them co-workers, not understudies.

Discipleship isn't about keeping people in a junior seat, it's about helping them see they can be part of the solution.
