We are mourning the transition of our beloved matriarch, Elder Ruth Helen Middleton, who passed at the age of 97. Her Homegoing service will be held:

Elder Middleton was more than a member—she was a pillar, a torchbearer of African American history, and a living example of what it means to walk with Christ. As Pastor shared, when someone of her stature passes, it is as if a dignitary has gone home. We honor her legacy with our presence, our service, and our unity.

We are asking all members—past and present—to come out, share this information widely, and be ready to serve in any capacity needed. Whether it’s ushering, setup, hospitality, or simply standing in support, this is a moment for the entire body to rise.

Let’s show up for her the way she showed up for all of us.

HOLY WEEK: A Journey of Sacrifice, Reflection & Victory

Family, as we journeyed through Holy Week, we were not just moving through dates — we were moving through His story, and our own. Each day reminded us of the power, the purpose, and the promise of our Savior.

April 13 - Palm Sunday:
He entered Jerusalem not with fanfare of kings, but with the humility of the Lamb — greeted with palms, yet heading toward the cross.

April 17 - Maundy Thursday:
We remember the Last Supper — a table of love, a symbol of service, and the charge to love one another deeply.

April 18 - Good Friday:
The earth shook as the Savior gave His life. It looked like the end... but heaven knew it was just the beginning.

April 20 - Resurrection Sunday:
He got up! Death defeated, the stone rolled away, and grace poured out for us all. This is the victory we live in. This is the hope we stand on!

So what does Holy Week mean to you?
It’s a time to pause. To reflect. To renew your spirit.

It’s an open invitation to experience the depth of God’s love and the power of His resurrection in YOUR life.

Our JBCC Family "Holy Week" Palm Sunday Devotional Reflection 🙏✝️🕊️

Palm Sunday: The Triumphal Entry 🙏✝️😇
Scripture: Matthew 21:6-11
"Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" 🙌🙏😇

As we begin Holy Week, we remember Jesus triumphant yet humble entry into Jerusalem. He came not on a war horse, but on a donkey-bringing peace, not conquest. The people shouted praise, but many did not truly understand His purpose. ✝️🙏🕊️

Reflection:
Jesus enters with divine authority, wrapped in humility. The city welcomed Him with palms and shouts-but missed the deeper call of the King. 🙏🙌😇

Call to Action:
What in your life is blocking Christ's reign? Pride? Fear? Distraction?
Today, lay it down. Make room for the true King. ✝️🙏🕊️

Let this Palm Sunday be the beginning of deeper surrender.
