As we prepare to worship in Hunter Hall during the renovations, we’re grateful to have a beautiful piece of our parish’s history joining us there: the Doumany Altar.

The altar carries its own story and connection to our parish, and we invite you to learn more about its history and significance.

As we move through this season of change, it is meaningful to be reminded that even when our surroundings change, the heart of our worship remains the same.

We look forward to gathering around the Doumany Altar in Hunter Hall and continuing to worship together during the renovations.

If you’ve been to St. John’s during August, or live streamed the service, you know things have been a bit different during the Holy Eucharist. Chris+ has re-introduced the use of our free-standing holy table, which brings the Holy Eucharist in the midst of the people in the pews.

As we continue growing our children’s ministry at St. John’s, we’d love to have more people learn about Godly Play and discover how they might be part of this ministry.

Godly Play is being used in 17 parish communities this fall, and Seeds of Faith is offering a three-hour introductory training in the Charleston area to help volunteers get started.

Whether you’re already involved with our children’s programs or simply curious about how you can help, this is a great opportunity to learn more!

Today, we celebrate the power of generosity and the difference we can make when we care for one another. Charity is more than giving—it is an expression of love, compassion, and hope.

May we find ways today to share our time, talents, and resources with those who need them most. Every act of generosity matters.

The International Day of Charity was established with the objective of sensitizing and mobilizing people, NGOs, and stakeholders all around the world to to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.
