A beautiful reminder that our young Church is alive and on fire for Christ! 🔥

Our parish staff was blessed to spend time together in prayer, reflection, and fellowship during our Staff Retreat centered on Intentional Discipleship.

A special thank you to Fr. Kavungal Davy, Dr. Joseph Matthews, and our pastor, Fr. Tom for guiding and encouraging us on our journey of discipleship.

We are called to know Him deeply, love Him more intimately, and follow Him more closely. We were also reminded that following Christ means being willing to “embrace the Cross,” trusting that even through challenges and sacrifice, God is at work.

May we move forward with hearts on fire and feet ready to move, serving together as one Body in Christ. 🙏

Our Faith Formation catechists gathered this week for a beautiful retreat filled with prayer, reflection, fellowship, and renewed purpose.

Our retreat centered on St. Andrew the Apostle, the brother of St. Peter and one of the first disciples to follow Jesus. Throughout Scripture, Andrew quietly points others toward Christ, bringing his brother Peter to Jesus, noticing the boy with the five loaves and two fish, and helping others who wished to encounter the Lord.

His example reminds us that evangelization often begins simply: notice someone, walk with them, and invite them to know Jesus. ✝️🐟

We are so grateful for our dedicated catechists and for the many ways they help plant and nurture the seeds of faith in our parish community!

Join us as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and honor our Blessed Mother as she is taken body and soul into the glory of Heaven.

Mary, assumed into Heaven, pray for us!

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Parish was blessed to host our second monthly Community Food Distribution, made possible through our partnership with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Families received fresh produce, pantry staples, eggs, baked goods, and other essential items to help nourish their households. This month, we were also pleased to welcome the Catholic Charities Vaccination Van, providing convenient access to vaccinations and healthcare resources for members of our community.

Our Community Food Distribution takes place once each month. Please watch our parish bulletin and Flocknote for announcements about the next distribution. We look forward to serving you!

For sixteen years, Fr. Felix has answered God’s call to serve His Church through the priesthood. Since July 2025, he has faithfully served as the Parochial Vicar of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, where his compassionate heart and dedication to proclaiming the Gospel have been a true blessing to our parish family.

As we give thanks for his ministry, we invite you to keep Fr. Felix in your prayers. May the Lord continue to bless him with good health, wisdom, strength, and abundant grace. May the Lord watch over him and guide him as he continues to faithfully serve God’s people.

Congratulations, Fr. Felix! Thank you for your faithful “yes” to God’s call and for being such a blessing to the St. Teresa of Avila family. May God continue to bless your ministry for many years to come.

“I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead them with knowledge and understanding.”
Jeremiah 3:15

For 250 years, Catholics in America have faithfully proclaimed the Gospel, celebrated the Eucharist, served those in need, and built communities rooted in Christ. Our faith has shaped our homes, our parishes, our schools, and our nation, reminding us that true freedom is found in following Jesus Christ.

May God continue to bless our country with peace, wisdom, justice, and unity, and may we always strive to be instruments of His love in the world.

From all of us at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and blessed Independence Day!

God Bless America! 🇺🇸

Our first Food Distribution Ministry day was a great success! Through our partnership with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and the generous sponsorship of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, we were able to provide fresh produce, canned and boxed foods, clothing, and other essentials to many families in our community.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers, the Knights of Columbus, and parish staff whose teamwork and generosity made this ministry possible. Together, we are living out our call to serve our neighbors with compassion and hope.

🎓💚 Congratulations St. Teresa of Avila School’s Class of 2026! 💚🎓

On May 29, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our 8th Grade Class as they completed an important chapter of their journey at St. Teresa’s.

These young men and women have grown in faith, knowledge, leadership, and service, leaving a lasting mark on our school community. As they move on to high school, we pray that they continue to walk with Christ, pursue their dreams with confidence, and use their gifts to make a difference in the world.

We are so proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the families, teachers, staff, and parish community who have supported them along the way.

May God bless each of our graduates as they begin this exciting new chapter. Once a St. Teresa student, always part of the St. Teresa family. 💚💛
