As camp season kicks off, I've found myself thinking back to my own summers at Camp Del Oro.

I spent five summers there, and honestly, those years shaped me more than I probably realized at the time. I worked just about every job they would let me do. I was in the skits, sang the songs, cleaned the cabins, carried gear, helped with campers, and learned lessons that have stayed with me for decades.

More importantly, I leaned deeply into my relationship with Jesus during those summers. Camp was one of the places where God challenged me, stretched me, humbled me, and helped me become the person He was calling me to be. Some of my best memories, closest friendships, and most important spiritual growth happened around campfires, in chapels, on trails, and while serving alongside others.

This summer, one of our youth, Sarah, has the opportunity to serve on summer staff. What an incredible blessing.

Would you join me in praying for her? Pray that God would use this summer to help her grow in confidence, character, leadership, and faith. Pray that she would build lasting friendships, discover new gifts, and most importantly, grow deeper in her walk with Jesus Christ.

Camp has a way of changing people if they let God work.

It certainly changed me.
